Cristianesimo Domanda

Guys, my nephew needs help! He's becoming an atheist!

My nephew's name is Jordan. He's 16 years old. My mom just told me what's going on with him and all I could think of was "WHAT?!" My sister and brother-in-law (which are is parents) are very worried about him. They're both crying about this. It's the things he's been saying and what he's saying doesn't make any sense. No sense at all. He says that God is a hybocrit. He says God killed all the people and animali on Noah's arc and stuff like that. That's not the God we know. My whole family including me are Christians but Jordan?! Mom told that my sister decided that this thanksgiving and Natale he's not going to get anything. No thanksgiving Cibo on thanksgiving, and no gifts on Christmas. He detto he's just going to get some McDonalds on thanksgiving. te can't have just some fast Cibo for thanksgiving. That's not enough at all. That's probably suppose to teach him a lesson. They even took his phone. His new phone that he got for his birthday. He doesn't believe the story of Easter, not the story of Christmas, not anything about God. Nothing in the bible. How can this happen? Doesn't he go to church with the rest of his family? I went with him to the youth room at his church even though I was only 20 but now I'm 21) and the other teens and young adults in there was really inspiring me. I thought Jordan was being inspired too but I guess I was wrong. And his church is a huge and beautiful church. It's ecxacully my kind of church. How in the world did he lose his belief in God? He doesn't believe in either heaven o hell. When my sister told him about hell, he was just laughing. It sound like to me he needs to see a therapist. Where does he think all the trees came from? Like sycamore trees? Where does he think the sky came from? How we came into this world? Who does he think created the world? The galaxy? o even the entire universe? His says there are some scientific facts of how earth is formed and I learned a bit about that in church. But where did the universe c

Sorry bout that. Let me fill that in. Where did the universe come from? This isn't like him. This isn't like anybody in my family. What opinion there world happened all of the sudden? Is the devil trying to mess with me even più da messing with my family? What did Satan do to my nephew? This is not the Jordan I know. Why is he suddenly against God? He believes all this that stuff from online. People who are atheist put stuff like that on the Internet. Not everything on the Internet is true. Doesn't he know that? Everybody else in my family doesn't know about him. He doesn't want everybody else to know because he thinks we' might attack him. We would never attack him. We just want to get him some help. What now? Is the devil trying to mess with me and make me miserable even più da messing with my family? Why can't Satan just back off and leave me and my family alone? Because he's evil like that, duh. What did Satan do to my nephew? Why is my nephew suddenly against God?! Jordan needs prayers.! I need prayers!

I'm not entirely sure what, exactly, not feeding him on Thanksgiving is supposed to do. Not only is Thanksgiving not a religious holiday in anyway, but punishing him is probably not going to solve anything, and only going to make the lack of communication worse.

I'm not your cousin, but as someone who converted from Christianity, and I can give te a few things to chew on:

First, what inspires you, and works for you, doesn't necessarily inspire and work for other people. And vice versa. That's the thing about people -- we're all different, not robot clones. That doesn't mean the other person is wrong (just as you're not wrong for not being inspired da the things that inspires me), o that they're sick, o anything else. All it means is that they aren't you.

Second, he may not have lost his belief in your god at all. I didn't "loose" anything when I converted religions -- the beliefs I held about Cristianesimo and YWH stayed the same. I've just gotten to a point in my life where I feel I can tell people about those beliefs.

te really need to sit down and have a conversation with your cousin, about what he actually believes and why.

I would also like to point something out that is something te are really, truly going to keep in mind when discussing things with your cousin:
te detto that te wouldn't attack him for being Atheist. However, te detto earlier that te think he needs to see a therapist because he no longer holds your beliefs. That, my friend, is a type of attack.

Being an Atheist is hardly the worst thing in the world to be. It seriously doesn't even rank in the superiore, in alto 1,0000 Worst Things to Be list.

Well the first thing to do is cut back on the punishments. People shouldn't be punished for being convinced of something, o having a different belief, at least on it's own, and them punishing him like that is not only going to make his relationship with them worse, but reinforce his idea that God is evil.

The più disconnected they act towards him, the più he's going think Cristianesimo is bad.

The good thing about this is that he IS asking questions, and that he isn't being blind about what people consider the "dark" side of Christianity. I'm glad that your cousin does wonder about things and wants to know the full story.

But unfortunately that part has passed on and it seems he's made up his mind. As te said, he thinks that God killed the people on the Arc and that he's a hypocrite, which of course isn't true.

What I suggest is that you, and your family members, sit down with him, and have a full conversation. Have him present what made him doubt Christianity, find experts in Cristianesimo to talk to him with about it. For scientific facts to support yourself when talking with your cousin, I suggest looking for things made da Ken Ham and Eric Hester, and possibly talking to both of those people in some way for direct advice. For spiritual concern, well there's quite a few people on this club te can talk to, but also there's raggio, ray Comfort and Kirk Cameron. Now I have to warn te before getting into those last two because while they are experts, they have made many unwise decisions in their portrayal of atheists, such as stereotyping atheist characters with names like "Al Cahol" and "Robin Banks", so he may have a knee-jerk reaction to them. Perhaps if te need to, te can even have him mostra what people have detto that caused the doubts, o even talk to those people. Above all else remember three things. ~Prayer is the most powerful thing te can do and it will be heard. ~The Bible is 100% true and everyone needs to make sure that they believe that 100% before they begin to think about defending it. I'm not saying te don't, but just as a reinforcement. ~He needs to know that te Amore him; that all of te Amore him. I see that te do da this question, and I'm very glad te are concerned for his well-being. If it does turn out that te are unable to convince him, then te have done what te can. Some people don't care about facts, o truths; they have their own vendettas against God because A. They don't want to get rid of their sin-nature B. They don't understand it completely C. They are afraid of the world D. All of the above For example, I used to have a problem with the idea of Heaven and New Earth, because while perfection sounds great, having no problems and always being happy seemed zombie-like and boring to me. I was afraid. When I looked più into it, I found that while there will be no bad, that doesn't mean there won't be challenges, good challenges, and that we will have a better understanding. I wish te the best of luck and I hope this has helped you. God Bless.

im so very sorry to hear this. but if its his choice, then there is really nothing te can do about it. its his descition at the end of the day. the best thing to do is remind him in a gentle manner that god is good and merciful and will forgive anything no matter how bad the sin may be. and the most obvious one, is to let him see the change in your behaviour and your attitude now that te have asked Gesù into your life.

also tell him that its not god who is resposible for all the bad things in the world, its us, for choosing to be sadduced da the devil, and going our own way, instead of listening to gods holy words. tell him that there wouldnt be so much suffering if our selfish desires didnt get in the way.

if you' have already done all that and still isnt listning..., well i guess there is nothing più to be detto and done. its his life, and he has to want to make the descition at the end of the day.
