The shoot offers a stripped down look for Demi, who sports simple lingerie and little makeup aside from a bright red lip, showing just how confident she truly is.

“I’ll have people who are like ‘Stop talking about it,’ but this summer I started wearing sexier stuff, and I got some hate for that, like, ‘You’ve changed,\'” she told the mag. “It’s like, what’s wrong with being confident enough to wear this?”

And to really prove it, she posted an unretouched photo of herself from the shoot, writing, “Behind the scenes (and bathroom door) of my Allure cover shoot.. Posting a #nophotoshop pic because I’m proud to show my body the way it naturally is.. (And there was great lighting…)”
