It's her or Elsa. But I cannot say that it is Merida's personality that makes her a bit selfish, it is because of her circumstances.

She is selfless towards her sister, but she could be considered selfish because of the impact on her kingdom.

She struck Anna in her heart and did not do anything instead told Hans to take care of her. She did not care about her kingdom that she has to run, she ran away so she could live peacefully.

I think Jasmine is quite selfish. The only selfless thing she did was that she told the guards she was the princess when they captured Aladdin, but that didn't help.

And like I said before, all she thinks about for the majority of her movie is seeing the lanterns (which doesn't improve her situation at all) and decides even though she says it's wrong to defy her mother, doing what she wants is more important than doing what she believes is right.

Then Jasmine, probably. I don't really think I ought to vote for Merida yet, because she had an enormous change of heart and realized how selfish she was. She stopped being that way and tried to make things right.

And to you truth76, so you are saying just because she didn't want to spend the rest of her life like hell and did something for her own sanity that makes her selfish? I think people really need to see how it feels to be Elsa for all those years. Imagine being scared of yourself for your whole life, that's just awful! So of course, what a normal person would do in her situation is lose control and just go crazy but that's not her fualt. It's not easy to manage yourself after going through such a hard time.

@shanyuisboss: If I was Elsa, I'd do what Elsa did after 21 years "run away", if she could run away when she was young it would be better because she wasn't the queen and she didn't have so much responsibility. She had the ice powers she could build a castle and live there, I know she was young and she maybe is afraid of living alone but it's still better.

@Frozenswift: If you think Elsa is not selfish then Merida is also not selfish because both nearly did the same thing. Elsa ran away so she could be who she is, Merida tried to disobey those rules so she could be who she is.
