An Emmett and Rosalie Fanfic
Chapter 28
This Can't be Happening
Rosalie's POV
The room was empty.
I scanned the room and everything looked normal, until I got the door that lead out the backyard. It was thrown open, almost falling off the hinges.
My dead cuore dropped. Emmett.
I rushed downstairs and found Edward and Esme da the backdoor, ready to go, engaged in a conversation. They immediately turned their full attention to me once I came into their view.
“Rosalie?” Esme asked worried, stepping toward me with her arm outstretched to draw me closer. “What’s wrong?”
“Emmett’s gone.” I spoke so softly and quick I don’t think she understood.
“Where is he?” Edward questioned without delay.
“I don’t know.” I wanted to cry. He is myresponsibility.
“Carlisle!” Esme called urgently. He was down in a flash.
Esme told him what was going on while Edward lectured me.
“How could te let this happen Rosalie?” he yelled.
“I don’t know.” I was now sobbing, my tears slowly subsiding giorno da day.
“He is a newborn, Rosalie! A powerful newborn!”
“I know.” I whispered.
“Tears aren’t going to make this better, Rosalie! I knew te changing this man was a horrible decision, but do te listen to me? No! Of course not! te really screwed up this time! He could be anywhere da now!” he screamed at me.
“I know, Edward! I know! I know! I am an awful per- vampire! I know! And te are so perfect aren’t te Edward? te never do anything wrong o make any mistakes!”
“Don’t te dare try to turn this around on me!" He pointed at me. "This is just like you! Not taking responsibility for your own mistakes.”
“I am taking responsibility! I know what I did was terrible. But I don’t need te screaming at me! I feel bad enough! And know hundreds of people could be dead and Emmett could be…and we could be…” I couldn’t even finish my sentence, I was just so angry.
“Edward, knock it off.” Carlisle detto firmly. “She gets it.”
Edward groaned.
“What are we going to do?” Esme announced.
“He could have gotten anywhere da now.” Edward detto again glaring at me, I just looked down crying silent sobs.
“He just wouldn’t have decided to go terrorize a town; someone had to have been hiking near by.” Esme predicted.
“True.” Carlisle replied. “But we don’t know when that was. It could have been an ora fa o it could have been only minuti before Rosalie went into his room. But once he gets human blood in his system…who know what he could do…either way, I don’t think he stopped at one o two hikers.”
This was getting ridiculous. They kept talking but I tuned them out. Emmett was out there killing people and we were here wasting time.
I walked past Edward and opened the door but Carlisle grabbed my arm before I could begin running.
“Rosalie. No. te can’t g…” Carlisle started. I pulled my arm out of his grasp after giving him a pleading look, and then took off.
I wisped through the trees and soared over the rivers, for miles upon miles, just trying to catch a scent. I called his name so loud the trees shook, climbed trees trying to catch a glimpse of anything out of the ordinary, and even pushed down numerous trees to get his attention so he would come investigate. Nothing worked.
Edwards annoying voice kept going though my head: ‘he could be anywhere.’
“Urghh.” I yelled before dropping to my knees and placing my head in my hands.
Come on, Rosalie. te can’t give up. As much as te don’t want to admit it, he means a lot to you. He makes te feel normal again: sicuro, cassetta di sicurezza and loved. You’ll find him.
I took a deep, unneeded breath and stood up. Where would he be?
If Emmett fondere, c'era un odore a human at the house it would have had to be within about a mile o 2, even with his sensitive senses.
I decided to start there. I would go over every inch of land within a mile of our house and just hope to find something.
...
After an ora of searching I finally caught a scent. It was close, really close. I followed my senses south until I came to a halt. There were 3 bodies in total, all drained of blood.
Lifeless: dead.
I cringed and took yet anther deep breath. I’d have to come back later and dispose of the bodies.
I spun around slowly, looking for any other bodies o a path that Emmett might have took. I found no signs of Emmett o any people. Which was bad…and good.
The only place I could think of Emmett going is to town. There were no residence with 10 miles of here and considering how strong of a newborn he is I knew he probably wouldn’t stop at just a few people. Just like Carlisle had said.
I took off in the direction of Nashville, I ran as fast as I could. It felt like I was flying. The whole way to town the image of caring yet powerful Emmett, sucking the life out of poor defenseless humans filled my mind…
Then I heard it…it made me stop dead in my tracks…
No!
