I remember visiting this website once...
It was called Character not seen in years returns for Game of Thrones Season 6
Here's some stuff I remembered seeing:
Season 6 premiere, and a potentially huge spoiler bombshell has just hit. Roughly six months ago,
we told you about a Twitter interaction between Jóhannes Haukur (unnamed role) and
Ricky Champ (Flynn), both of whom will play members of an outlaw band in Season 6. The interaction ended with the mentioning of: “Say hello to Paul Kaye!”
Kaye portrayed the Red Priest, Thoros of Myr, and was last seen in Season 3 bringing Lord Beric Dondarrion back to life.
So, we’ve been thinking that Kaye might appear in Season 6—as Thoros—and we thought we would get some sort of official confirmation, but sadly that never came…until this evening.
, and reported that Kaye would, in fact, officially be returning to
Season 6, as the resurrection-practicing Red Priest, Thoros. Here’s what his agency had to say:
Paul has also been busy with television roles, you can catch him in the eagerly awaited Season 6 of Game of Thrones which debuts on Sky Atlantic Monday 25th April.
really get thick, so turn back if you wish to remain Unsullied.
is also reporting that Thoros may be involved in a scene featuring a hanging. That could mean exactly what it says: that Thoros and his band of outlaws hang someone. That would fit with what the Brotherhood Without Banners get up to in
, and with Jaime Lannister returning to the Riverlands in Season 6, opportunities to run into them increase.
, the Brotherhood Without Banners hangs members of the Frey family under the leadership of a character fans have been eager to see since onscreen since the end of Season 3: Lady Stoneheart.
There is no confirmation that Lady Stoneheart will appear in Season 6, but if Paul Kaye is filmed a hanging scene as Thoros, it would present an excellent opportunity for showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss to finally introduce her. And, with Episode 3 titled “Oathbreaker,” many fans may watch with tinfoil hats firmly on their heads.
We’ve known the title of the first episode of Game of Thrones Season 6, “The Red...
The second trailer for Game of Thrones Season 6 dropped this week. What did we think? Are we...

Beautiful. Will be quite awesome, if true. Oh, and, Hodor.
Or it’s going to be Sansa taking up LS’s role and doing something for a change. We’ll see.
I think everyone on their undead, murderous mother hope that this is the case but I just don’t see Sansa & Thoros hooking up this season! She had SO much shit to do in the north!
So, I really want to know if LSH is coming but I don’t think she is, sadly. The WotW & fanbase are absolutely obsessive in their observation and investigative skills – surely
would’ve had an inkling of some kind of solid evidence by now!!
If they were going to do something as big as lady Stoneheart this season, it would definitely be top secret on set. More top secret than what happens to Jon snow, I’d say.
Agreed. Including apparently trying to keep Paul Kaye’s return a secret.
Every other character’s return has been transparent; Blackfish, Walder Frey, Yara etc. but not a word on Thoros until it leaked(?) today. Wonder why.
I’ve held since day 1 that the LS reveal was a tent-pole moment in the series along with Ned’s death, Red wedding, Purple wedding and a few other scenes.
I didn’t think she’d appear at the end of S3 but after 2 seasons of expecting her just because it seemed like a no-brainer that she would appear, it seems now that it’s much more realistic plot-wise.
Giving Brienne a contrived raison d’etre to kill Stannis was just a holding pattern along with Jaimie’s Dorne excursion. And now they’re both back on track with the book plot.
I don’t think it’s too late to introduce her. I highly doubt anyone has forgotten the Red Wedding. And now all of the components are returning.
GRRM didn’t introduce LS to be just a vessel of hatred and revenge, I think there’s got to be some sense of closure for her. Maybe making up for her resentment of JS by sacrificing her life for his? They might have foreshadowed that in season 3 when she unburdens herself to Talisa of the guilt she was feeling that she wished JS dead as a baby while he was sick with colic or some other sickness after Ned had brought him home.
I think I speak for all pro LS’ers that if it doesn’t happen this season that we will put it to rest.
yep i thought the same … the life gift from the lord of light pass through Berric -> LSH -> JonSnow.
Well hot damn! This could turn out to be the season of dreams… If stoneheart is introduced properly I’ll be giddier than a schoolgirl. I’m still not holding my breath until I see photos of her in costume though…
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!!
I’m crossing my fingers for Lady Stoneheart, but we may be getting Lord Crowheart instead…
I’m thinking Melisandre sends for Thoros and he brings the bastard(Jon Jon) back to life at Castle Black. The brotherhood isn’t all that far away
Sheeeeet…. That would be beyond awesome… I was already hyped… Too good to be true…
Breaking News: Thoros of Myr will perform a Vulcan mind meld with Theon’s penis in Season 6.
I can’t! Until the last scene of the last episode of the last season doesn’t show her, I’ll always believe. #StoneheartTruther4lyf
Yes, I fully realize I need to seek professional help for my LSH addiction. :)
Let me know if you find any, I need some help for my LSH addiction as well.. :D It would be epic to see Lady Stoneheart in the show!
A57se You seem tired of something perhaps it is you who should give it up.
There’s just too much focus on the riverlands I think to deny this looks likelier and likelier. I can’t see any other explanation from a narrative POV. The siege of riverrun is not that central for all the time spent filming and the broad casting. Plus there’s all the interview hyping of sansa’s plot this season.
For me the remaining doubts are more around how the LSH angle will be adapted – full blown vengeful Cat zombie style or morphed taking back what is mine pawn to player Sansa style.
Ian mcshane just said hes gonna resurrect the hound right? What if they crossed path with thoros? They might help sansa and jon fighting the boltons. Bonus: sansa and the hound will reunite and he will be her knight.
Can’t logistically see how. The Hound is in the riverlands so if they crossed paths it would be in the south – so yea but then it would be Frey plot rather than Bolton related.
But the hound is reformed. He’s not a fighter anymore. Claganebowl can only fly because it’s for The Faith. The hound jumping straight back into battle would lose all the poetry of that story arch and the broken men speech.
Don’t care if it’s LSH or Sansa taking on parts of the LSH character – as long as I get to see Paul Kaye play Thoros again I’m a happy camper…
This makes things potentially much clearer as to why the made such a point of creating the meeting between Mel and Thoros a few seasons back so that she became aware of his resurrection abilities…I couldn’t figure out the point of all that if Thoros wasn’t going to be back on the show for this coming season (as it appeared after filming had wrapped with no reported sightings of Kaye / Thoros)…
…now it seems pretty likely that Mel, after being shaken by the realization that she read the flames incorrectly and backed the wrong player in Stannis, will realize that Jon Snow was the only chance at salvation and send for Thoros to bring him back…
…but man, it raises a lot of other questions regarding Brienne and Sansa, and the siege of Riverrun…more anxious for this season than any to date; it’s been fun trying to come up with possibilities for this season – it’ll be even more fun when we see what actually happens on screen. Yes, a thousand tinfoil dreams will be crushed once the season kicks off, but the reality should be pretty epic and entertaining….
I think it will be Arya in the role. If not her then the Blackfish.
Arya makes better sense from a character POV
I knew it. I knew these were the hands of Thoros of Myr:
I tried to verify it earlier, but most of the time he was seen before he was wearing gloves…
So I’m thinking – might this be the reason why Brienne gets on her way to Riverrun? Because she and Melisandre know what Thoros has done before and they want him to do it again with Jon Snow?
That might explain who LF runs into in the trailer? It does look like he’s seen a ghost
I don’t know why many fans waited Lady LH before Brienne and Jamie arrives at the Riverlands. Lady SH’s appear makes sense only from now.
I really hope Anguy makes a return with the BWB.
If LSH appears, whether she’s a resurrected Catelyn or someone else, is still up in the air. But it looks like we’ll have the BWB and some Freys in need of hanging…
Boy, after thinking and reading a while this gets me more and more suspicious. Before, I was very sure that the Lady Stoneheart plot would NEVER occur in the TV show, but now there are so many things falling into place:
-> the rumour about Thoros featuring a scene about a hanging,
-> anyone remembers that before season 5, there were some news regarding
a script page (leaked or faked) that seemed to confirm that the LSH storyline from the books will be in the show,
-> Episode 3 is called Oathbreaker. As we know, this is what LSH in the books tells Brienne her sword should be called,
-> a second explanation for “Oathbreaker” could be that Brienne broke her oath because she did NOT kill Stannis (I’m still not at all convinced that he’s dead),
-> the “beloved character [brought] back to life that we think is dead” may be Catelyn Stark, not the Hound (who I wouldn’t call “beloved” anyway) or Jon Snow,
-> and finally Brienne and Pod ARE travelling to Riverrun and meeting with Jaime in the show. Up to now, there was no convincing reason for them to do so.
Damn, NOW I start seeing a ZombieCat shadow on the horizon too…
It would also be awesome if Richard Dormer reprises his role as Beric Dondarrian….
İ dont understand why everyone exited for Lady Stoneheart. İ mean book readers Spoil the S..t of her since Season 3
İs there anything left suprising about her?
I think it’s just the thrill to have Catelyn Stark back on the show. Because this chacarter is not even so important until now, she didn’t do much.
It doesn’t make any sense to introduce her now. She should have appeared in season 5, as well as this hanging scene.
I’m guessing they’re gonna club LSH with Sansa and the brotherhood without banners will march behind her.
I really hope it’s not LSH. One resurrection this season should suffice. Two resurrections is bordering on the ridiculous.
One resurrection this season should suffice. Two resurrections is bordering on the ridiculous.
If she shows, it would an end-of-the-season fade to black right after type of reveal. If we see her, me thinks it would be ep 10
Catelyn Stark not important? She basically started the war by seizing Tyrion. And pledging Robb to marry a Frey was not insignificant.
well according to that one place that claimed to have leaked the script, she is coming back….
What if Arya steals a Catelyn Stark mask from the house of black and white and heads to the Riverlands? She could scare the shit out of the Freys and take revenge. Old balls Walder Frey would shit his diaper. Of course that would still require Michelle Fairley to play the role. But I think that would be pretty cool.
