season when a couple of episodes feel strangely quiet - obviously building towards an awesome/horrible battle of some description. That being said, \'The Broken Man\' was still just as thrilling as ever (see our review here), and these are the main things we discovered...

1. The \'if you don\'t see them die on screen, they\'re not dead\' rule is alive and well

YES! The Hound is back in business. Whether you were spoiled by hints and casting news or not, it was amazing to see Rory McCann\'s Sandor Clegane make a comeback this week. Despite being left for dead by Arya a couple of seasons back after Brienne\'s beating, he cemented his presence as one tough bastard.

It turns out that he was rescued by a warrior turned septon named Ray (played brilliantly by Ian McShane), and began living with a small group of villagers. Later, a trio from the Brotherhood Without Banners (one of whom looks far too similar to Euron Greyjoy) arrived to pillage, only to find there was nothing worth stealing.

After Sandor warned Ray that they will return, he kept diligently collecting firewood. But when he returned, they were all dead. Was it the Brotherhood? Clearly pissed off, Sandor picked up an axe and ventured forward to get vengeance. THE HOUND IS BACK.

We have to admit, we thought Arya might have been a shock goner this week. After betraying Jaqen and the Faceless Men, she was always going to be up a Braavosi creek without any semblance of a paddle.

After securing passage back to Westeros by bribing a trader, she was attacked and repeatedly stabbed by the Waif (oh go away, please). After managing to hurl herself into the water, she stumbled along the streets of Braavos, essentially with her innards spilling out.

Maybe The Hound could eventually come to her rescue? It didn\'t seem a coincidence that he realised that something bad had happened immediately after her attack.

3. Jon\'s Avengers recruiting isn\'t quite going to plan

Jon and Sansa\'s attempts to secure the services of various houses in the North to take on the Boltons wasn\'t a huge success. But we already love the plucky House Mormont. They may only have 62 soldiers, but with Lady Lyanna in charge, we\'re glad they\'re on the right side.

Jon has at least got the Wildlings very much on his side - who would have seen that coming a few seasons back? However, House Glover isn\'t so accommodating.

Despite this setback, Jon knows they must attack Winterfell soon, though Sansa disagrees. Behind his back, she decides to write a letter sent by raven to an unknown person. Who is it? We have our money on Littlefinger.

4. Margaery is the best poker player in King\'s Landing

We knew Margaery wouldn\'t let us down. When it seemed as if she had joined the High Sparrow and the Faith, she made it subtly clear to Olenna (Diana Rigg\'s best week yet) that she is still the granddaughter she loves.

When trying to convince Olenna to leave King\'s Landing, she slips her a piece of paper with the sigil of House Tyrell drawn on it. Olenna now knows she must flee before being locked up herself. But not before telling Cersei how she has royally f**ked everything up.

5. Cersei looks as if she\'s about to resort to desperate measures

After hearing from Cersei that she has "lost" the battle against the High Sparrow and that she has no allies left in King\'s Landing (apart from Zombie Mountain), Cersei seemed pretty despondent for once.

However, as she appears to be adamant about staying behind to fight, we can\'t help but wonder where all that wildfire is right now...

Firstly - YES for Bronn also returning this week after a no-show so far this season. He arrived with Jaime to lead the Lannister army to Riverrun, where the (pretty shoddy) Frey band were attempting to lure out the Blackfish by threatening to kill Edmure Tully.

He easily calls their bluff and stays inside the stronghold. Jaime - like a boss - takes it upon himself to lead the siege, but is also unsuccessful in agreeing a deal with the Blackfish. In fact, he dares Jaime to seize the castle. He double dog dared him. What the hell will Jaime do now? And will he do it before Brienne gets there?

7. Theon\'s sister Yara is just as horny as he is (well, was)

And she might just be the show\'s first official lesbian. The Greyjoys took their Iron Fleet to Volantis for supplies (and boobs). This scene wasn\'t totally pointless though, as we saw Yara encouraging Theon to find his former personality and confidence, as she needs him by her side when Euron finds them.

She also revealed that she plans to take the fleet to Meereen in the hopes of forging an alliance with Daenerys before Euron can.

Cersei seeks violence against the Faith dudes - and she has the Mountain to back her up

Brienne and Jaime may be forced to fight it out to the death (even though they clearly secretly love each other, right?)

The Waif is still pissed off (give Arya a break, woman)

The Hound is beating the living crap out of someone (he\'s coming for his CHICKEN)

Podrick is in some serious trouble (and it looks as if it\'s Bronn dishing it out)
