HOLD ON ONE MOMENT, hp i need your help..



just doing some slight reading,.
i know harry potter book 1 was released 1995, and the last book came out 2007(i think)

and i was Leggere about severus snape it says this..."Professor Severus Snape (9 January, 1960 – 2 May, 1998)"

ARE THE libri WRITTEN AS THOUGH ITS STILL IN THE 1990'S?"
I know the Film dont do that, but i never really pick up in the the books, ...

I did read somewhere that the Film are set around 10 years later, but I can't remember where, don't know how correct that is, and don't really care, to be honest. I don't think it really makes that much difference.

Yes, the libri are written as if we're still in the 90's - sort of. JK used this technique that my Creative Scrivere teacher called "timeless setting." It's when te don't give many indications of the time period your story is set.

I think the Film followed this technique too. I mean, there really isn't much indication to say it took place ten years fa (at least, from and American's point of view - I don't know too much about British fashion, both in the 90's through today).
