I really don't mean to chose my own, but i stick by what i say. He is a Coward, because he never even tried to search for Voldemort after Harry defeated him as a baby, he never believed he would come back, he thought that was the end of him. And he is Cunning, because he is determined to prove everyone wrong about him, yes he is afraid of being killed, he is afraid for himself and his family, but he is cunning in a way.
