I think this version makes more sense. She'd never have forgiven herself if she let him sacrifice himself (let as in didn't succeed in stopping him, even), since she felt that she was forever in his debt already. Plus there'd be his family left to lose him.

I didn't add a neither option because that would be cheating, and obviously the majority would go for it.
