Thanks for the reviews! And yes Stephen & Robert are officially partners in crime! In part 9 & 10 we'll find out a little bit più about their plans, but first this part in which our beloved Blind Birds start to open their eyes a little... Enjoy!
After listening to the message Hugh called Stephen. ‘Hey, I got your message.’ ‘O, hey! So, lunch tomorrow?’ ‘Ehm… I kind of already have plans tomorrow afternoon…’ ‘Those plans più important than having lunch with your best friend?’, Stephen joked. ‘Ehm… it… How about brunch? Say 10ish? I have to be somewhere at 2 so that would give us some time to catch up.’ ‘Of course, your place?’ ‘Yeah, sure.’ ‘See te tomorrow then.’ ‘Bye.’ Hugh sighed as he ended the message. When Stephen had asked him about the importance of his plans he had silently freaked out a little. He had been Friends with Stephen for più than half his life and the only people più important to him had been his kids and during a certain amount of years his ex-wife, but now… something had changed. Over the past years a certain woman had found a way into his cuore and he loved spending time with her, he just never realized that he loved spending time with her so much and that he cared about her that much that he would pick her over his long time best friend…
Hugh tried not to think about his friendship with Lisa and concentrated on the scenes they had to shoot that day. Time flew da and at 6pm Greg yelled ‘It’s a avvolgere people!’ ‘Does that mean we actually get the night off?’, Robert detto and gave Greg a stunned look. ‘I guess it does!’ ‘It’s only 6pm…’, Omar detto as the cast and Greg started to form a group. ‘Anyone in the mood for dinner?’, Lisa asked as her colleagues and Friends nodded. ‘So how about we go put our own clothes on and meet each other at that new restaurant 2 blocks away on the corner, what’s it called? Anyway, let’s say in about 30 minutes?’, she asked. ‘Sound like a plan to me!’, Olivia detto and the other ones nodded and started to walk away. Hugh was the only one that didn’t sposta and Lisa noticed it… She waited until the others where far enough away before turning to him, ‘Are te okay?’ He could hear the concern in her voice. His eyes met her and he closed them briefly, ‘Yeah,… yes… of course… I just don’t know if I…’ ‘You don’t want to go?’ Hugh looked at his feet, he did want to go, but ever since the phone call with Stephen that morning he had been feeling a little weird. His cuore had started to fight with his mind and he didn’t know how to handle it, he told himself he never thought of Lisa this way before but the warm feeling in his cuore and stomach had always been there when she was near. ‘I-I am just a little tired…’ ‘It’s okay if te don’t want to go... I’ll just call a cab to get home…’ He just stared at her face for a while, everything about her was just so soft and… He stopped himself thinking about her in that way, his conscience kicked in and told him he shouldn’t , because they were just friends, amazing Friends and he couldn’t afford to risk that friendship, he wouldn’t survive without it. ‘I… I do want to go, just not for too long… Stephen called this morning and he wanted to have lunch tomorrow, but since I promised te we’d go shopping, I told him I couldn’t and we agreed on brunch, so I can’t really sleep in tomorrow and I’m already tired so.. ehm… I’ll come… but just not stay until deep in the night… that okay?’ Lisa smiled and nodded as she felt her cuore racing and glowing inside her…
They all arrived at the new restaurant and had just ordered drinks when Olivia signed something to Lisa, who was sitting opposite of her. ‘I need to go to the bathroom.’, Olivia announced and quickly signed something to Lisa again. ‘Ehh yeah, me too. I’ll come with…’, Lisa detto and quickly got up and walked to the bathroom with Olivia…
The others, which were all men, looked at each other and laughed. ‘Can someone tell me why that is? Why do women always have to go to the bathroom together?’, Hugh asked. ‘No idea…’, Jesse replied. The other men nodded. ‘And te can’t ask them either, because they’ll say it’s none of our business!’, Omar said. ‘Yeah, apparently it’s some sort of female secret that isn’t supposed to be figured out da any man ever, but they all know about it! From the age of 10, they all do it!’ ‘I know,’, Hugh said, ‘I asked it to Rebecca once when she was 12 and she told me that it was a ‘Girl thing’ not to be discussed further.’ ‘Hmm, I guess we’ll never find out. But let’s order some più beers, if Lisa and Olivia ask why we’ll just say it’s a ‘male thing.’’
‘So now spill it sister.’, Olivia detto as soon as they entered the bathroom. ‘Spill what?’, Lisa asked surprised. ‘Why did te and Hugh come in the same car?’ ‘What?’ ‘Don’t think I didn’t see it! te were sitting in his Porsche and he was driving you!’ ‘O, that… My car wouldn’t start this morning, so I called Hugh, because I knew he had to be there early too. He drove da my house and picked me up.’ ‘Right…’, Olivia detto not completely buying it. ‘What? te don’t believe me?’, Lisa asked. ‘Hmm I don’t know… I mean you’ve been giving each other those looks for a while now… I just figured that maybe te two finally… te know.’ ‘What?! No! We’re friends! We’re just friends…’ Olivia smirked, ‘O, okay if that’s what te want to keep telling yourself, then that’s just fine with me…’
For the rest of the night she couldn’t get Hugh out of her head. In her mind she kept repeating how they were just Friends and how their friendship was too powerful to risk, but her mind couldn’t stop her cuore from racing when he smiled at her o when he accidentally brushed up against her. She was a little relieved when after a few hours Hugh whispered he wanted to leave soon, because she didn’t know how to restrain herself any longer…
They walked to his car together without saying a word, both Lost in thoughts. When they stopped da his car Lisa turned to him, ‘Give me the keys.’ ‘What? Why?’ ‘Because te drank.’ ‘Only 3 beers!’ ‘Doesn’t matter, fact is te have alcohol in your blood and I don’t, so give me…’ Her eyes met his and she realized she was being a little harsh, ‘Please? I just want us to get home safely?’ Hugh nodded and handed her his keys. ‘How are we both going to get home though, if te won’t let me drive?’ Lisa shrugged, ‘I’ll drive te home then call a cab, I guess…’ Hugh nodded as Lisa started the engine…
