Usually when a monster is only seen from the waist up it is because of the FX team who sposta the monster on scene. Sometimes it is because of the budget they can not get a person for the full suit o sometimes not even able to afford the full suit. So behind the scenes te will see one o even two people working one monster. Especially if the monster is only in one o two scenes. Hope this helps.
