"Born This Way" is a better song at encouraging individuality though, and not just because Glee covered it. "We R Who We R" is just about getting drunk and partying hard. That's the message. And really, it has absolutely nothing to do with individuality, it's more about being in the crowd. Gaga's song is the better one.

I somewhat get how We Are Who We Are can possibly be about individuality, but Kesha is pretty much describing what's one individual is doing ad wearing, then suddenly saying "yeah, we do stuff because that's who we are. People who do stuff"

Born This Way is obvious encouragement to do what you feel you are destined to do, and you're not doing anything wrong, or going against the Bible or anything. You're just being yourself.

Yeah Glee sent a cool message, but Glee doing it doesn't make it a great song. The song is good for its own sake, for its own message and its own lyrics. It's great because Lady Gaga poured her opinions into it and promoted individuality herself. It's not good just because Glee covered it. It would be an amazing anthem for individuality without Glee.

And I'm not being a, er, "misgleek." I happen to adore Glee. I just don't think you should think a song is good just because it was on Glee. There's a lot more to songs and music than who covers them.
