Okay so I'm reading Pride And Prejudice and it is my first time reading it so excuse me if my question is too absurd.
From what I understood from the very first chapters that
at the time women didn't have the right of inheritance , am I right ?
But later on the author says that Mrs. Bennet's father left her four thousand pounds.
So how could that be possible if women couldn't inherit anything at the time ??
