Why do some people blame things on their religion?

Because quite simply. Some people need a reason to have a certain opinion sometimes but if they don't have reason to back it up. They tend to blame things on religion. I find alot of ignorant visualizzazioni and practices start with this notion. It has happened through history. One culture would discover another culture but the first culture feels that their way is better so they use their religion o something similar to justify why they try to either convert detto culture,do horrific things o generally be assholes. Alot of times people blame things on religion when they don't have a logical reason to state their opinion. It's sad but that is alot of times the case. In the case of your example with Cristianesimo and homosexuality. Alot of Christians try to justify because their religion dictates it they should be complete and utter assholes to the LGBT community yet they fail to realize that is going against the entire concept. In Cristianesimo te must treat your neighbor with respect. It's a fundamental rule. Some people just have certain customs that their religion dictates and they hold fast to it without question. In short there are alot of reasons why people blame (justify) things on religion but NOT all of them are intelligent and logical reasons.

I'm a Christian and I don't curse, actually because I found a verse in the Bible that says not to....I guess I don't really understand the question. Are te asking why we don't do things because of our religion? Sorry, I'm a bit confused...... :/

Yeah... I'm a Christian and one thing I hate is when people claim to be homophobes because of Christianity! Ugh, for the sake of Gesù (and I mean that literally), shut up! God is not a freaking homophobe!

I think she's trying to ask why people cite their religions for not doing things.
To this I say- If God wrote a lista down and gave it to you, saying it was full of things te shouldn't do, would te do them?
