The pandemic has numbed so much of my experiences in the last several months. At least in my personal life, I have a lot to be grateful for, and I try to remind myself of that, though its hard to truly feel it these days. Lives are being upended across the country as COVID-19 continues to ravage populations, and people (myself included) are understandably trepidatious about efforts to reopen the country will yield in terms of new outbreaks. This disease has marked all of us, even if we haven't experienced personal loss. It was a long time coming, and my background informed me well enough that such a disease was a domanda of "when' not "if, but I dont think anyone was prepared for just how deeply this would affect us. of course, that hasn't been the focus of the past week. We've seen tensions boil over as yet another incident of police brutality ended the life of a black man, this time with no excuse of the officer defending their safety (however absurd claims from precedente officers were). I dont think I can ever fully understand the anger on display across the country. The pain of that loss is etched in the faces of every protester, and while I have many concerns about how they're going about this (particularly as it may further spread the virus), I can't help but feel for their cause and cheer them on. Violence may not be the best solution, but these people have been told time and again to put their frustrations to the side and Amore their country, despite being constantly made to feel like they are secondo class citizens. What makes all of this truly insane to me, though, is the responses we've seen from the leadership. I've made no secret of the botched job the president has done with COvID-19, though his response to these protests ranks as one of the worst transgressions of his presidency. His inability to understand what has these protesters to frustrated is on full display as he desires to unleash US military might against unarmed civilians. Everything wrong with his response seems to be embodied da his recente photo-op at St. John's Church, where he tear-gassed protesters and religious leaders to put on a farcical mostra of piety. Rather than address an ongoing crisis, Trump has made his priorities clear: look good, above all else. I've long since stopped wondering if this president can surprise me with yet another new low, but even so, this is simply appalling. At a time when the president could be pulling for unity, particularly before an election where a lack of unity will be all the più apparent, he refuses to take even basic measures to mostra that he cares. It's crazy out there, and it shows no signs of letting up. Find sanity where te can, and hold onto it.

Same as always; we have an incompetent and corrupt government. It comes as no surprise to me that this is getting handled as piss poorly as everything else.

But tbh I'm kinda with ranty in that I'm almost going numb to it now. I feel like I'm just constantly being bombarded with bad news upon bad news. It's depressing to the point that I had to stop paying attention to the news. I mean there's just so much going on at once; the pandemic, the new recession, and now this.

And again, the federal gov is handling it the way they handle everything else; like shit and devoid of compassion and basic human kindness/sympathy.

And for that (though I feel bad for innocent victims) I understand the hostility, anger, and outrage. I understand why these people are rioting because how long can a person be pushed and tested before they snap? No one really listened to the peaceful/nice protests (even those are met with aggression from law enforcement), so people are mostrare their teeth.

Maybe successivo people can riot over the piss poor health care and the horrific state of the economy.

First off, this shouldn't have happened to George Floyd. Police brutality shouldn't happen to anybody black, white, Hispanic, Asian, o whatever colour they are.

But the rioting and looting doesn't make them any better than Chauvin. What did the stores have to do with his death? The only people that had some to do with the death of Floyd were Chauvin and his accomplice.

A retired officer, who was black, along with others that were protecting their businesses, was killed in the riots.

Edit: if the looters do get shot for protecting their stores, etc., the protectors are pretty much justified. Let's be honest.

I think corruption is bullshit, in any country. Any cops who treat people like that are fucked, in my opinion. I honestly think the bad cops need to fuck off back to wherever they came from and just not be cops at all, because they're supposed to be there to uphold the law and protect people from crime... if they add to the crime, then they're not doing their job properly and that's fucking bullshit.

Here's an example of why it's bullshit. Take my job, for example; I have to supervise people, do paperwork and plant trees, while driving and making sure that timesheets and pays get done properly, so everyone in my crew gets paid properly. Would it be okay for me to not do my job properly? What if I screwed up a job, because I couldn't be bothered doing it properly? o I just couldn't bothered doing my crews' times and they didn't get paid right? A job is a job and if te can't do it correctly, then te shouldn't be doing it at all, really.

For the record, I don't like the police much, but I know there are plenty of good cops in amongst the bad ones... it's not like I hate them, o don't respect for them at all, I just particularly like them, because I used to get a lot of shit over driving related stuff that was out of my control for the most part. I can't be bothered explaining any più than that, though.

Anyway, I hope eventually America can get rid of that stupid businessman at the helm and start sorting out the bullshit with corruption, especially in government run forces, particularly the police force there. All this racism and negativity is just not good for anyone.
