Reign" executive producer Laurie McCarthy has revaled that in season 3 there may be something brewing between Leith and Claude. Could it be romance? She also stated that the new episodes will be a lot lighter than in season 2.

"I miss the fun," she told Seat42F. "I miss the gaming and scheming at Court without such heavy consequences. I think we\'ll get back to that next season. It\'s not going to be as dark."

As far as Leith and Greer possibly reuniting, McCarthy says she isn\'t sure if there\'s real hope for them but watch out for things changing between Leith and Claude.

"I think there is a dynamic that is bubbling up with Claude and Leith," McCarthy said. "They started out with a real brother-sister kind of vibe, but I think we\'ll see that shift."

In the season 2 finale, Catherine was kicked out of the castle by her son Francis. She then ran to England, bringing Queen Elizabeth into the mix as a new alliance. Mary and Francis got back together, and Conde fled the dungeon. Kenna left the castle and has split from Bash, who now appears to be supernaturally bound to Delphine, a witch. With so many shocking changes, McCarthy promises that next season will have a much different feel.

"I think this next chapter will feel really different," she says. "I don\'t want the show to always feel the same. I want it to always be shifting, because I feel like their lives would always be shifting."

"Reign" begins its third season with Mary and Francis realizing that they are more powerful together than apart, believing there is hope for them to move forward, leaving behind the anger and hurt. It also introduces us to another Court, that of Elizabeth, "Virgin" Queen of England. Still early in her reign, Elizabeth faces opposition on all sides, particularly from men who doubt a woman\'s ability to rule. Like Mary and Catherine de Medici, she struggles to hold on to power and love. The women have much in common, and Mary and Elizabeth are reluctant foes, but foes nonetheless, each positioned by birth and fate to destroy all the other holds dear.

"Reign" will be back on Friday nights this fall on the CW.
