“The Flash” on the CW may have been off this past week, but the show and its “Arrow” counterpart are gearing up for something big. “The Flash” and “Arrow crossover is still weeks away, but fan anticipation is building for the big event. However, while “Arrow” might have come first, “Arrow” Executive Producer Andrew Kreisberg told TV Guide that fans might want to pay more attention to “The Flash” if they want to be ready for the crossover special.

Before the crossover episode Kreisberg says that episode 8 of “The Flash” will be an important one for both series. “Arrow” fans will not need to be caught up on the “The Flash” to follow the episode, but they may need to tune in to stay current with “Arrow.”

Kreisberg explained to TV Guide, “We discover something about Oliver (Stephen Amell) which is probably one of the biggest secrets we\'ve ever revealed on the show — and it happens on ‘The Flash’.”

Fans have some waiting to do before episode 8, but the most recent episode of “The Flash” already featured a mini-crossover. In the episode, “Gone Rogue,” Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) got a visit from Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards) who came to see the new superhero’s new powers. The two even went out on a date and shared a kiss after Felicity helped Barry stop Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller).

The exact date of the crossover episode has not been released, but will take place during episode 8 of “Arrow” Season 3. Until then, fans might want to check out “The Flash” as the two worlds continue to collide. “The Flash” airs on Tuesdays at 8 p.m. EST on the CW.
