“Do te know something, Stella?” My best friend, Princess Bloom from Sparks, called coming into my dorm. I sprayed some perfume on my skin and sighed with content. I turned around and blinked my perfectly long lashing eyes.
“What?” I smiled. Bloom giggled. “You look as beautiful as a pretty, petite flower.” “Aw, thanks Bloom!” I flung my arms around her neck at her compliment. “I Amore it when te say things like that to me. And it’s just the kind of thing that’ll get me going to see my precious snookums!”
“Snookums? What kind of nickname is that?” Another voice asked, coming from the door. I looked behind Bloom and saw Musa leaning against the doorframe of my dorm door. She was a blue pigtailed girl who had flawlessly ivory skin and bright, sparkly dark blue skin. She was a Musica fairy who had a passion for music.
“Why, Musa? Is it a crime that I can call my boyfriend snookums? He absolutely loves calling me cupcake!” I giggled just as Bloom did. “When does your data start Stella? And shouldn’t te be going there da now?” Suddenly, Bloom’s phone started vibrating in her pocket.
“Huh? Hello?” She answered absentmindedly. “Oh, ciao Sky. What’s up?” She paused and suddenly, her face became blank. “What? Why isn’t Brandon coming to pick up Stella?” At this, my face paled with stress.
What? I thought flabbergasted. Brandon’s not coming? Why?
“Sky, Stella’s actually upset now and if te don’t get Brandon here now, she’ll be crying più than ever, like right now.” Bloom told Sky in the phone with a worried glance towards me as she saw shredded tears lessening from my eyes.
“I have to go, Sky. I’ll talk to te tonight. Meet me here at Alfea when it’s midnight so we can talk about why Brandon’s been avoiding Stella ever since the giorno of the Rose that happened this year.” As soon as Bloom hung up, I hurled my arms around her, crying on her shoulder with tears streaming down my face.
“Why? Why does Brandon just suddenly disregard me after every time he’s asked me out on a data when he tries to make it up to me for what he’s done? What have I ever done wrong, Bloom?” I sobbed. “You’ve done nothing wrong, Stella. I’m going to figure this out and that is why I’m going to talk to Sky tonight.”
I sniffed. “Thanks Bloom. You’re the best.” I weakly smiled. “That’s what Friends are for.” Bloom detto confidently. “I am not going to let te suffer from Brandon, Stella. te can count on me.”
I closed my eyes and sighed. I can always trust te Bloom.
“I can’t believe Brandon did that to te yet again, Stella!” My technology fairy friend, Tecna from Zenith, cried astonished after Bloom explained that Brandon wasn’t coming to the data with me. “It’s just not logical for him! Even Timmy wouldn’t let me down with a simple date,” Tecna sighed, “if he had the urge to ask me.” She mumbled the last bit.
“Yeah, Tecna’s right Stel.” The fairy of nature, Flora from Linphea, detto with gentle kindness in her quiet voice. “I wonder why Brandon’s knocking te off like that.” She detto with confusion. “There has to be a solution to why this is.”
“Of course there should be,” A dark-skinned, cerulean eyed girl who had long, slightly curly and wavy dark brown hair, detto crossing her arms over her chest. She was Princess Layla of Tides. “There always is, like my father tells me.”
“I’m beginning to think te and Tecna are right.” I detto shortly. “Brandon always ditches me before we go out. It’s killing me.” I added with a sad impression. “I just have a feeling…that he’s cheating on me.”
“NO!” My Friends cried at my words.
“That is not the right, girl. te need to stop saying that nonsense and tell Brandon te have to talk to him.” Layla detto with certainty in her voice.
All my Friends nodded. I rested my chin into my hands and stared at my cell phone that sat in front of me on the small tavolo in the main room. te just have to call him, Stella. A small voice whispered in my mind. Then te can just…tell him why he broke the data off.
I bit my lip and, slowly and shakily, reached for my phone. I searched slowly through my contacts, sensing the girls’ stares at me, before I saw Brandon’s number right in front of my eyes. I closed my eyes and sucked in a slow and deep breath and exhaled it slowly.
This is it. I thought and pressed CALL on the screen, putting the receiver to my ear. I was trembling all over and Bloom had to come over to avvolgere her arms around my shoulders, giving me an expression that detto that she and my Friends would never leave me alone until it was done.
She supported me through so much already.
“Hello?” I heard Brandon’s voice from the receiver. He sounded…worried. I gasped out of fear of what I was going to say. “Um.” I gulped down my pride. What am I doing gasping into the phone? “Uh, ciao Brandon!” I detto as enthusiastically as I could. “Oh, uh, ciao Stella.” I heard how Brandon’s voice became stiff and rigid. It set my cuore racing.
“What’s up?” he asked. “Um, Brandon? Why didn’t te come pick me up for our data tonight?” I asked, wondering if he either forgot o just didn’t bother to pick me up anymore.
“Oh god Stella, I completely forgot!” Brandon almost detto it sarcastically and it sent oca bumps all over my arms. “I wish I could make it up to you. How about we make another data at Black Mud Swamp near the lake where the little sirene are? How does that sound?”
“No, Brandon.” I said, clenching my hands into tight fists, wishing he was here so that I could demand him what was going on. “We need to talk. Tell me what’s going on with te lately. Why have te been avoiding me, huh?”
At first, I heard Brandon’s breath pause for a second. Then, he chuckled as if I detto was something funny. “Why are te laughing?” I almost demanded. “Sorry Stella, but since you’ve asked me this, I’ve been busy with Red fontana tasks dato from Professor Saladin.”
“Well, why didn’t te say so?” I asked, almost relieved but I still held onto the little doubt that I had.
“Is that why I don’t see te as much nowadays?” I added. “Yes, and I’m sorry cupcake.” I giggled.
“Okay. But promise me that you’ll come see me when the boys come after school tomorrow.”
“I promise Stella.” Then he hung up, leaving me with a smile on my face.
“Well? What happened, Stella?” Layla asked, curiously. “He detto he was busy with Professor Saladin’s tasks that were dato to him, so that’s why he was busy.” “But it’s a Saturday, and there’s no school today.” Bloom protested.
I could only shrug. “I guess there isn’t. Maybe Brandon took extra shifts at Red fontana for the weekends?” I asked. Bloom pursed her lips. “But I’m still going to find out the truth with Brandon.” She sighed and looked around the room, realizing something.
“Have te guys noticed how Musa’s always disappearing every Saturday? Tecna told us that she also sneaks out during the night and comes back at dawn.” Bloom stated. “Really? No one told me that.” Layla blinked surprised.
“Yeah, me too.” I detto quietly. I stood up and walked towards the door, stopping when Bloom asked where I was going. I turned my head, but didn’t turn around. “I’m going to take a walk da myself.”
I walked on and shut the door behind me as I walked down the stairs in the school hallway, outside of Alfea and onto the school grounds. I walked silently towards the gates of the school and exited, pacing in the direction of the forest outside of the school.
What do I do to deserve this? I thought, kicking at small stone in my path with my heels. I flinched when my heels clicked against the dirt. I suddenly reached down and decided to take off my shoes so that I didn’t wreck them.
For half an hour, I walked straightforward into the forest and I was beginning to think that my Friends were worrying about me right now because it was sunset. Abruptly, I heard voices close da as I walked absentmindedly.
I congested walking and listened cautiously at the voices again. This time, I heard a slight laugh coming from my right. I turned my head and narrowed my eyes as I noticed two shadowy figures were da an expanded lake, sitting on a picnic mat near it.
I tiptoed inquisitively towards the two figures and quickly dashed towards the nearest albero that was closest to them.
“Don’t te think we should get back, Brandon?” A melodic voice came from the figure that I was closest too. I gasped. I know that voice! I thought.
It was Musa.
“I don’t suppose we have to, Musa.” Brandon’s voice came from the secondo figure. It broke my cuore in two that he was with Musa and not with me. “Stella wants me to come to Alfea tomorrow and spend time with her.”
Musa sighed. “Did te promise?” she asked. “Yes, I did.” Brandon said. I peeked at Brandon and saw his expression was full of Amore and passion towards Musa. It was just like he did with me in the old times. “But I will try to tell her that you’re my girlfriend now, when she and I meet.”
I couldn’t breathe when Brandon detto those two three words towards Musa. It caused my whole body to tremor with shakes and tears. Why Brandon? Why me and why did te have to choose Musa over me? My friend! I thought, shattered.
I cried silent sobs that came into my pained chest and watched them smiling and baciare each other just as passionately as Brandon and I did together when we were alone. Soon, after a few seconds, I crept away from them and ran, holding my shoes tight so that Brandon didn’t know that I was spying on them.
Once I was out of the forest and was walking towards the Alfea gates, my expression had changed after I saw the scene of Brandon and Musa. I knew, from the moment I told my Friends that Brandon was avoiding me, that Brandon was always onto something like this.
Brandon, I thought as anger burned in my eyes. You’ll wish that te were never with me. Ever, and I shall promise te that, and only that.
When the night conquered the blue, it was suddenly a torrent of rain that came down on Alfea’s roofs like straight pebbles hitting the hard surface. I was lying on my letto with a thousand foto around me in a cerchio that I placed on the letto before coming.
These were foto of me and Brandon but some were of my friends, Flora, Tecna, Layla and Bloom. But I loathed Musa più than ever because she was now Brandon’s girlfriend. I will make te pay for what te did, Musa. I thought and picked up a foto of me and Musa, winking into the camera at a frutti bar, holding drinks in our hands.
I tore the foto in two, but left the foto of me winking, in a box where I kept all of them. Before I could tear another foto that had me and Brandon linking our arms around each other, I heard a door creak open and the lights turn on, even though it was raining outside.
I stood up from my letto and walked towards my dorm door. I twisted the doorknob in my fingers and swung the door open silently and wide enough for me to see what was happening. I saw a slim figure and a muscular figure near the main door to our dorms and I switched the light on.
To my shock, I saw Musa was baciare Brandon while Brandon was taking off her superiore, in alto and jeans. The both of them stopped what they were doing and turned towards me, sharing the same shock that I had on my face.
“WHAT ARE te DOING?” I screamed at the superiore, in alto of my lungs. “DO te THINK THIS IS SOME mostra WHERE PEOPLE LIKE te DO THAT HERE?” I covered my eyes when tears streamed once again down my face.
He was going to do it. I thought, giving Brandon the angriest glare I could put on my face. And he was going to do it with her.
Just then, the door that led to Bloom’s and Flora’s dorm, opened and Bloom was there, standing in the doorway. Behind her was Flora. “Stella!” she cried, rushing to me as she saw my crouch on my knees in tears.
She wrapped her arms around me and I put my head onto her shoulder in comfort. “Bloom…” I whispered; my voice was shaking. “What?” Bloom whispered back at me. “Brandon….he wanted Musa….I can’t believe he did this to me.”
Bloom didn’t say anything for a few secondi and I noticed that her free hand was forming into a fireball. I felt Bloom sposta away from me before she whispered that she was going to deal with them right now.
I sniffled and saw Bloom walk up to Brandon. “How dare te break my best friend’s heart, Brandon?” She detto with pure anger in her voice. She glared fuoco at Musa who was cowering behind Brandon. “Don’t think that what te did was wrong, because te did do it, and te decided to do it in front of Stella!” She yelled.
Bloom’s body was fuoco – from her head, her arms and to her feet. She was purely angry. Brandon gulped in front of Bloom and she glanced at me. “Stella….” He detto to me. I closed my eyes put my hands over my ears so that I didn’t have to hear his voice anymore.
I was already having a painful time as it is.
“Stella, even if te don’t want to hear my voice, I still Amore you!” Brandon shouted. “I’m sorry!” I looked at Brandon once he detto that, giving the same anger that Bloom gave to Musa. “Go Believix!” I cried. A light flew around me and soon, I was in my Believix fairy outfit. I walked towards Brandon, seeing Bloom sposta away so that I could speak to him, and also the fuoco was evaporating as well, leaving a ball of fuoco in her hand.
I lifted Brandon’s chin and looked into his eyes. His eyes now showed Amore towards me and not to Musa. I would’ve hugged Brandon and told him that I loved him as well if I didn’t see what I saw a few minuti ago, but I did see what I saw and I am not taking Brandon back.
I smiled at Brandon but I slapped him as hard as I could in his face. He hung his head as I saw that there was a red spot on Brandon’s left cheek. “I don’t Amore te anymore Brandon. I have already got over te since I saw te and Musa picnicking out in the forest.”
“Stella, I’m sorry.” Brandon whispered, looking up at me with sorrow for how much he had put me through this pain. I scoffed. “How are te sorry, after I had heard te that Musa was now your girlfriend? And if you’re that sorry, te have the right to mostra sympathy to me.”
“Stella, I truly–” But I waved him off.
“I don’t want to hear it, Brandon. te and I are over, and there’s no us anymore.” I said. “And that’s final.”
Brandon bit back his fear and slowly walked back towards the main door, giving me a glance once again before he could walk out.
Walk right out of my life.
