Idk, I've always been a fan of Dan's shows (I'm old XD) When I was little I drove my parents batty with All That and the Amanda Show, I watched Zoey 101 when I was a bit older. If drake and Josh was playing on some channel, I'd find it and watch no matter what. Always watched iCarly, but only off and on. This has to be my preferito so far. As I've gotten older (I'm only 20) I've realized that I like how Dan pushes the rules, goes outside of the box. Even crosses gender roles and lines and always gradually. Personally, I think if anyone will introduce a homosexual couple on a program for this age group it's Dan, because he goes outside of the box. Tori and Jade's playdate was REALLY pushing it for some people and I loved it. (That's just ONE example of how he doesn't let the rules define his shows) It's not just that either, he makes characters with a lot of depth. There are so many different facites to the characters he presents. Jade, Tori, Sam, Carly, Cat if te really look at them, te can see layers and substance to their characters. Most shows even on the adult side of things are assigned one role, and that's who their character is. The lines are often blurred with Dan's characters and espeically in this show. Personally I think this is his best mostra ever. The cast is amazing, the characters are solid, the jokes are funny, the plots are interesting. That's why there are so many discussions and arguments over it. Some people see a scene one way, others see it another way. It's fun. There's a billion reasons I like the show, but that's the main one. (AND if not for this mostra I wouldn't know about Liz Gillies and I adore her, so there's another plus)
