"She's giving birth!"Kate said, as I laid down in front of Kelley ready to get the pup.
"Shh-sh-shhh. It's okay I'm her Kelley...just give a nice small push." I detto in the calmest voice I could find in me."That's it breath in through the nose and out through the mouth.I see the head. Another small push. I found it's front legs. Another push...and it's a girl!"I gave the pup to Kate and went back to get ready for the other one.
"Alright honey, just a little longer and we should have the other one. A small push now,small.I have a head AND the front legs! Just one più push and... Another girl!"

They had decided not to stay up until the howl ended at 2 in the morning, so they had all gone to sleep wearing earmuffs that Chris had made. Chris had done quite a lot for these wolves. As I slowly trotted looking half-way between the ground and the sky, I was surprised I hadn't seen anyone since I started wading into the forest. After an ora o two I started to feel uneasy.
