Avenged Sevenfold Tease ‘This Is Bat Country’ Release
Strap in! Avenged Sevenfold are ready to take flight with their next project. The band has just released a new trailer for something called
, and while not specifically stated, it’s likely the first glimpse of a promised upcoming DVD from the group.
The clip opens with a quote from Samuel Johnson stating, “He who makes a beast of himself, gets rid of the pain of being a man.” Then viewers get quick glimpses of Avenged Sevenfold concerts, ranging from the members onstage, to the viewing of the skull stage props, some pyro, fans showing their energetic approval and more while voiceovers from M. Shadows take place.
At first he offers, “Music is a journey and a journey takes you places you thought you’d never go. Sometimes it bring you right back to square one.” He later concludes, “I think it keeps life exciting and if your favorite band can’t be exciting, then what can be?” The clip ends with footage peering in on the group members as they’re about to take flight aboard a plane to their next destination. Additional details are expected to be revealed in the coming months.
Last fall, Shadows told us, “It starts off just before Jimmy [\'The Rev\' Sullivan] passes away. Then we just tell our story. Our story is obviously one that not every band has. Our story is one of loss, one that we lost our best friend and we went on to put out two consecutive No. 1 records and got to do Download Festival, Mayhem. So it’s basically tracking the whole thing through our own eyes and words, because no one has really heard our side of the story. Other people have just talked about it themselves. We’ve always been pretty private about it. So, now people are going to get to see visually what we went through and see some killer shows, Download Festival, Mexico City, Rock in Rio, Rock on the Range all mixed into one big package.”
In other news, Avenged Sevenfold have updated their website. It comes complete with a new introductory video narration by M. Shadows, and includes fan-generated news, a real-time hashtag photo feed, customizable skins, a message board, links to all of Avenged Sevenfold’s music and tour information. Head on over and check it out.
