A Guide to Answering the Unanswerable, Making Sense of the Nonsensical, and Solving the Unsolvable

How big is your vocabulary?
How heavy is your house?
Do the dead outnumber the living?
What are the best words to use
in a personal ad?

We humans are a curious species, prone to think, ruminate, reflect, cogitate, mull over, and philosophize. We long to explain away the world aruond us, to answer all those seeming unanswerables. Why are we here? Is there a God? Is there life after death? And, above all, how many houseflies does it take to pull a car?

A confirmed and superior geek, Dr. Graham Tattersall has rescued math from the prison of the classroom and put it to use in novel and unexpected ways to explain some oft-pondered mysteries of the world. Geekspeak is an essential tool that will help te exercise your brain and solve the unsolvable, make te sound intelligent so te can impress your friends, and enable te to better understand the fascinating world in which we live in ways never possible before.

Math has a new champion, and the geeks a new king.

*Dr. Graham Tattersall is a freelance engineer working on projects as diverse as computer-aided shoe fitting, automated image recognition, fault analysis systems for trains, and enhancement of ultrasound images. He lives in Suffolk, England.

Hope te will enjoy as much as I did!

My Life in France da Julia Child with Alex Prud'homme
You must know Julia Child da name if not da reputation. The cook of all cooks. The woman who revolutionized American household kitchens; she entered the home da TV and left us groaning, having just gorged on prodigious French food. But that really isn't her, Julia Child declares, in her book. My Life in France is an amazing, humanizing potrait of Julia Child as we peek into her life before fame and (can te belive it?) her life before she could cook (she claims that she was horrible in the cucina before moving to France and attended cooking...

This is a common phrase/question that people employ when asking us booksellers for suggestions for their Friends and family. "Well, he/she loved so-and-so...what else is like that" In fact, that is very helpful when trying to recommend books, knowing other libri & authors that they like.

But sometimes one can get stuck in a rut and cannot come up with a wide selection of suggestions. Let's help each other find new libri based on libri we already enjoy. Adult, young adult, whatever te like!

Here are some Specific Titles that might prompt some suggestions:

-If te liked Harry Potter, you'll...

Since everyone was so positive about my last article, I decided to make it a series of sorts. Different themes, maybe one articolo a month. I am 23 and I still Amore all of the following books. People can enjoy them at any age, but these are especially great ones for kids and teens. There were so many to choose from, so I apologize that I had to leave out so many of my favorites. Let's all recapture youth! As always, these are in no particular order.

1. The Neverending Story da Michael Ende
This is one of the few fantasy novels that isn't an entire series. Not to offend anyone, but I do not like...

Who Am I?
By: Gabriela Acosta

Chapter 1
“How would te describe me Lilly?” I asked.
“Paula, you’re a very smart and unique person. But also mysterious. In a good way.” She replied.
“How am I mysterious? I mean, I never thought of myself that way.”
“Because you’re always so quiet around people. Not around me, of course. It’s like te shut yourself down completely, like te don’t want them to know who te are.”
“But te know I’m very shy! Besides, I’m not very good at socializing, te know? I always make myself sound like a total freak!
“Hey, te asked for my...
