This was a book segnala that I wrote for my English class. If you're thinking of Leggere the Hunger Games, I suggest that te look at this...

The Hunger Games is a very popolare book among teens my age. It’s basically about a sixteen-year-old girl named Katniss whose sister (named Prim) was chosen to compete in the Hunger Games, which was an annual tournament where two children from each District (there are 12-ish) are forced to fight to the death on live television. Katniss apparently really loved her sister o something, because she volunteers to go in Prim’s stead.
I first picked up this book because everyone else was Leggere it. The plot had caught my interest, and I saw it EVERYWHERE in school, so I decided to read it. The first thing that I thought when I finished the book was, “Why on Earth was this thing popular?” I mean, the plot was definitely good, but the Scrivere was only so-so. However, I actually did kind of like this book. I can count on one hand all of the libri that have managed to make me cry, and this is one of them.
I did have a minor problem with the character development though. The point of Katniss going into the Hunger Games in the first place was to save her sister Prim. The only problem is that Prim has, like, three lines before the main character is sacrificing her life for her. Yeah, that’s great and all, but I like to actually get to know the character before I start feeling all mushy about her life being in danger.
What also bugged me was the autore makes a big point of the fact that Katniss has no special talents besides archery. When it comes to public speeches, acting, intelligence, etc. Katniss just stands back and lets the BOYS do everything and make all of the decisions for her. Oh, apparently Stephanie Meyer recommends it. (No surprise there.)
Anyways, I DID like this book, even though it had (a lot of) problems. I would recommend this book to everyone who likes excitement and doesn’t mind (many) plot holes. Also, if te have a weak stomach, don’t read this. (Wow, I’m doing a terrible job of selling this thing, aren’t I?)
But other than THAT, it’s a good book.
My rating? 6/10

If dato the opportunity, what sixteen-year-old wouldn’t jump at the chance to sposta in with a friend and live parent-free? Although maybe “opportunity” isn’t the right word, since April had to tell her dad a tiny little untruth to make it happen (see #1: “Lied to Our Parents”). But she and her housemate Vi are totally responsible and able to take care of themselves. How they ended up “Skipping School” (#3), “Throwing a Crazy Party” (#8), “Buying a Hot Tub” (#4), and, um, “Harboring a Fugitive” (#7) at all is kind of a mystery to them.
In this hilarious and bittersweet...
