Naa, I wouldn`t feel good about changing a tradition. As far as I know, nobody is going around for the whole day until the very midnight, so I don`t know about the safety thing. I don`t think it really matters for most Halloween activity participants. And if somebody wants to throw the party, they can do it on the weekend. I wouldn`t be weirded out seeing people in costumes going to a party happening on a Halloween week, but not on the exact date.
But maybe in the USA it`s much bigger and more concerning thing than here.

Idk I feel like it would be more convenient if it were on the weekends; it would make it easier for parents to take their kids trick-or-treating. But at the same time it's been on Octobor 31st for how long now????

I actually kinda like the tradition of it being on October 31st but as someone who stopped doing Halloween because she had repetitive conflicts and became too tired after a day at school, I could see it being possibly better in the long run.

I mean trick-or-treat always falls on different days, but Halloween is always on the 31st.
