Im watching this with no opinions from anything cos I havent heard much about it and normally ads that try to make a stance like this or whatever usually kind of annoy me but I kind of actually think they did this REALLY well?

They arent demonizing all men and they are actually rather fair what with the "some already are, but some is not enough". I mean I GUESS it could be unfair or offensive if you entirely reject the concept of "toxic masculinity" and say that the behaviors of "toxic masculinity" isnt harmful (for both men and women), then it might be but....

Honestly I hate terms a lot of people that are really gunho on social movements and crap use like "toxic masculinity" but the whole pressure put on guys to be tough and emotionally cold and what with the "What are you pussy / sissy / etc" that does happen when someone is a little off from the typical masculine type is a bit problematic and some guys really are creepy pervs and crap.

Maybe they do depict some men to be a little worse than the average man is, but those men DO exist and they do depict men also as behaving better than the average man as well so I feel its personally rather fair but thats just my opinion

The people whining about it can't get the idea that sexual harassment is harmful and that real mean help fight against it.

^^^"Maybe they do depict some men to be a little worse than the average man is, but those men DO exist and they do depict men also as behaving better than the average man as well so I feel its personally rather fair" - Really great point. The depictions of men themselves (the above-average men you alluded to) providing the solution to improve other men's behaviour makes the overall tone of the ad really quite empowering IMO.

Cannot really comprehend the amount of hate it's getting. Lol did that 500k worth of dislikes even watch it?

I'm kinda going back and forth between the two answers. I don't think that it's offensive but I think that it's a tad unfair. I don't think that it's like wildly or significantly unfair and I don't think that's intended to be so either. But I think that, to an extent, there was a bit of a generalization. And that to an extent the message is rooted in an assumption that men are naturally 'toxic'. BUT at the same time it kinda reminds me of 'don't drive drunk' ads. Those kind of operate on the basis that all teens are reckless and stupid. And that's why I picked no in the end because 'don't drive drunk' commercials aren't fair or offensive. Just like the drunk driving ads this ad is trying to raise awareness and get a message to people who need to hear it/are at risk.
To me it's more like a gentle reminder. And I don't think that there's anything wrong with encouraging a group of people to be the best that they can be.
If a commercial like this came out for women I don't think that I'd be bothered by it either.
