Here is my personal ranking of the ten princesses, with explanations as to why I feel each way regarding detto princess and how her ranking is justified da my beliefs. It is an opinion articolo so please respect mine.

♥ dweeb

10. Aurora

Pros: Aurora seems playful and aware of her aunts’ birthday surprise. She plays along and but is clearly not a gullible person. She is sweet and kind and seems to really cherish her family, as she is excited to introduce her boyfriend to them and share that part of her life with them. She continues to be playful with the animals, she’s a good sport and has a sense of humour about dancing with the make-believe “prince” in the woods. I like that she doesn’t take her dream super seriously and knows it’s a far stretch that she’ll meet a prince. I also like that she picks berries and is cleaning the house, mostrare that she obviously contributes to the household a lot and isn’t spoiled. On a shallower note, she is beautifully drawn with MAGNIFICENT bouncy hair and her voice is simply beautiful.
Cons: I have to wonder why she wants a “prince.” Snow White explicitly stated her prince would come but only after she met him and could recognize that he was royalty and hence a prince. Snow was also a princess so it was a bit più natural she’d be raised to expect a prince. Aurora though? She’s a peasant girl…why does she feel entitled to a “prince?” Does she idealize royalty and riches??? I know little girls want to be a princess, but a sixteen anno old still fantasizing about that? She also seems a bit weak-minded. Her attempts to reject Phillip da running away only to have him repeatedly cup her wrist and pulls her back towards him for instance. It struck me as rather rude. He had no respect for her personal spazio and seemed to treat her like prey that he could just prove his physical dominance over da not letting her leave. I also found he seemed to be throwing her own lyrics in her face in a way when he detto they’d met before. He was basically stating “I’m the man te dream about, te must be mine,” the same way Gaston does to Belle. Only unlike Belle, who is insulted to have a man assume he knows his place as her dream-man, Aurora submits to Phillip very soon after she realizes he won’t stop chasing her. It helps that he’s tall and handsome, which are two of the only three traits Aurora describes about her dream-man. She wants a tall, handsome, rich prince who is romantic…kind of shallow in my opinion. Any specifications regarding personality, Aurora? I also don’t like that she’s a cry baby. Obviously it’s sad te can’t be with Phillip but come on, hours later that’s still all te care about?
Conclusion: Aurora is a sweet, if not a bit shallow and submissive young woman, and the sweetness just isn’t enough to superiore, in alto the lista because all the other nine princesses have that in the bag equally if not more.

9. Cinderella

Pros: Cindy, Cindy, Cindy. She’s very nice and playful to her mice friends, making them little outfits, although most people would probably do something along those lines in her position eventually due to sheer loneliness and boredom. Cenerentola has some good traits. I really admire her optimism. She has so little yet she keeps a positive attitude for the most part, we could all learn a little bit about that I’d say. Cenerentola seems to be a bit spunky, I like when she mocks her stepsister’s Musica lesson and says “There must be something good about him” regarding Lucifer. I also like the subtle ways she stands up for herself, like saying she’s in her rights to attend the ball. And when she can’t attend the ball, the stepmother condescendingly taunts her saying there will be other balls, I like how Cindy cuts her off coldly, knowing she orchestrated the whole thing and is a sadistic monster. I also like how she seemed to almost mostra off her rosa dress as a comeuppance to the stepfamily, asking “Do te think it will do?” when she knows she looks great. She’s also a very beautifully drawn character! I think she’s gorgeous!
Cons: I don’t like when she goes to hit Lucifer with a broom. That is animal cruelty and abuse regardless of how rotten an animal he is! The stepmother is mean too, does Cenerentola act violently towards her? No. It’s wrong to take out your anger on Lucifer just because he’s small and defenseless compared to her bigger oppressors. If she’s going to take violent action, it shouldn’t be solely for the ones who can’t defend themselves. Aside from that, it seems selfish how Cenerentola preaches to Bruno about getting along with Lucifer and then reinforces Bruno’s behaviour against Lucifer only when it directly benefits her own personal gain. Other than that, there’s nothing really Cenerentola does wrong per say, I just prefer princesses who defend themselves a little bit più and don’t accept abusive circumstances so willingly.
Conclusion: Cenerentola is a nice enough, pretty girl, who shows strength in her optimism despite a shitty life situation. Unfortunately, she doesn’t stand out as a particularly active o engaging individual. She seems a bit boring and I think people like the idea of the complessivamente, generale rags-to-riches magic fairy tale princess story più than Cenerentola herself as an actual character.

8. Snow White

Pros: She is cheerful, charming, and cute, to the point of being a caricature with little resemblance to an actual human being. It’s this over-the-top personality that makes her higher than the other two. She stands out. She may not be powerful, but unlike the other early princesses, she definitely has a personality aside from being “sweet and pretty.” She’s cheery to the point of a mental disorder! I like the way she interacts with the dwarfs. She seems truly grateful to them and doesn’t judge their funny appearances, rather just befriends the little guys. I like how she doesn’t feel entitled to their help either, she offers to actually work and earn her stay. She seems più humble to me than Cindy and Aurora, apologizing for her forest outburst, which was COMPLETELY understandable dato the drastic, horrific circumstances she was facing. She is a bit startled da the scary looking woman peering in at her, but she’s only human! It was a physical reaction to having a shadowy creepy grin staring te two feet away. She immediately offers the ugly woman assistance, mostrare kindness and respect to the elderly and unfortunate looking. She is an animal-lover and just an all-around nice person, really likeable indeed!
Cons: She is a bit too gullible for her age in taking that apple. Not to mention either stupid o a liar because the dwarfs told her eighty six thousand effing times: “DON’T LET ANYONE IN THE HOUSE!” Within minutes, she’s got Granny in the dwarfs' kitchen, taking her apples and giving her a foot massage. Like, hello. Snow, you’re sweet, but really dense. Also, her Amore of housekeeping and tidying is not relatable to me and is just a by-product of the men Scrivere the screenplay’s “ideal woman” in the time the film was written, and just ordering the animali to help when it gains them nothing whatsoever to clean up is a bit rude. The way she acts motherly to the dwarfs is also a bit rude. They’re doing te a favour letting te stay, remember lady? Don’t order them and threaten to starve them…and I get the feeling she treats them like children due to their size, which is plain wrong. I can’t imagine her being so domineering and controlling with her big, manly prince.
Conclusion: Snow White is a very, very nice, sometimes very, very stupid girl. She at least has a memorable personality, albeit many can’t stand detto personality, I don’t mind it at all.

7. Rapunzel

Pros: I like Rapunzel. She has some good physical comedy and is pretty relatable to me. She feels guilty about defying her mother but does it anyway because her determination for a giorno of freedom is too irresistible. I like that she takes risks but isn’t just completely negligent of the consequences o who she may be hurting. I like how she defends herself and even gets physically threatening with Gothel towards the end when she knows it’s necessary for her own safety. She shows many different aspects of herself throughout the film: anger, joy, sadness, fear, guilt, heartbreak, strength, cleverness. She is not a one-note wonder like some of the lower gals on the list. I like how she reaches out for Gothel when she dies, because I believe that death as punishment is only acceptable as a result of self-defense in a direct assault. She clearly knows that nothing is black and white. She is cute and playful with Maximus, but like I said, most princesses have the “sweet” trait. I like that she comes up with a plan to see the lights and executes it, mostrare she isn’t as naïve as she first appears. I feel very bad for her insecurities and can relate to her having a parental type figure who subtly tries to keep te feeling insecure but hides it with “love” and “affection.” She’s an action girl which is cool too. I like that she also offers herself to save Flynn, that was a really selfless act of Amore that I found very touching.
Cons: For starters: Why drag Pascal down with you? He wants to go outside and te guilt him into staying trapped the same way Gothel does to you. He could at least explore and then come back. Maybe she does let him out but it didn’t really seem that way in the first scene. I don’t believe in animali being kept as pets. They didn’t choose that life and have a right to freedom. And blackmailing your Amore interest to force him to accompany te somewhere doesn’t seem very morally right. She doesn’t know that Flynn is a thief o a bad person, she just holds him hostage anyway. Her personality also seems a bit bland. I just can’t pinpoint it but she’s not particularly memorable to me, although I admit her voice is very cute. Her passion about seeing the lights seems a bit vapid to me, but I guess I wouldn’t relate because I’ve lived a più free life than she has and had bigger opportunities to find greater dreams.
Conclusion: Rapunzel is cool and fun and very cute, just not as memorable o heroic as my superiore, in alto princesses.

6. Jasmine

Pros: I love, love, Amore Jasmine. She is fierce and does not take shit from anybody who disrespects her (or so it would seem…) She is playful with her tiger and seems like a bit of a prankster da the way she and Rajah interacted with Prince Achmed. I Amore how she doesn’t necessarily want to marry. She is content being a single lady for the rest of her days if she has to, she refuses to settle for anyone just for the sake of having a man in her life. “IF I do marry…” She is not dreaming of a man. She just wants her life to happen naturally and if she meets someone worthwhile, then she’ll consider marrying. It’s awesome how she runs away, abandoning her riches forever. She would rather be poor and have to fight for survival than a rich wife to someone who will treat her like a trophy. She is kind and naïve, offering an mela, apple to a poor boy and thinking nothing of it. I Amore how she is a self-proclaimed fast learner, picking up on Aladdin’s “crazy sister” act and Jafar’s Amore slave act really quickly and impressively. I like how she’s not judgmental of Aladdin’s home, when it’s clearly the dingiest place she’s ever set foot in. She is not shallow o materialistic whatsoever. She also sacrifices her own happiness to save Aladdin, da returning to her gilded cage of a palace to straighten things out with Jafar. The guilt she carries after hearing of his death sentence and the way she blames herself shows she is not selfish and has a great deal of empathy and isn’t arrogant o high-and-mighty like some people think she is. I like how she is completely dismissive to all the sexist recitazione jerks around her, including Prince Ali, and I Amore how she calls them out on it and yells at them and doesn’t keep things bottled up. She feels disrespected and is entitled to stand up for her equality. When she gets on the magic carpet, she shows that she is thrilled da adventure and traveling, not being imprisoned in a castello to serve as a trophy bride. Even after falling in love, she interrogates Ali for lying to her, and does so with a very sly trick which I love. She is able to put two and two together and catch Aladdin’s lies about not being the boy from the market. She’s just all around a very incredible woman.
Cons: She is far too quick to forgive Aladdin. When she says she understands and knows why he lied about being a prince, she is going too easy on him. He could have told her all along: “I met a genie and wished to be a prince so we could legally marry!” But instead, he decided to pretend to be a complete other person and deceive her into marrying him which is really pretty despicable. And he did this out of thinking that she would laugh at him! Does gelsomino know that her boyfriend thinks she is a stuck-up snob who laughs at poor people? He obviously didn’t pick up on her non-judgmental behaviour in the first scene where they met as commoners. I’m not saying she can never forgive Aladdin but she certainly is entitled to scolding him. She gave him plenty of opportunities to be honest and he just continually manipulated her. This really upsets me and is one of the reasons Aladdin is very low on my favourite prince list.
Conclusion: Amore Jasmine. Hate her taste in men and her willingness to accept their bullshit when I thought she was such a strong person.

5. Tiana

Pros: Tiana is so admirable. She is extremely hardworking and dedicated, willing to spend her life building her way from the ground up to achieve her dreams. This is not to say she is a doormat, she has a great deal of pride and sense of self. She is cynical about wishes and fate, which is very realistic and relatable to all of us feeling run-down in this hectic and often tragic world. I Amore how she values family. It’s clear from the get-go she loves her mother and father and that she is driven to make them proud of her accomplishments. She’s also doing it for her sense of worth and passion though. I Amore how she refuses to worry about romance until she’s where she wants to be as an individual. Her dream coming true at the end was ultimately her restaurant, she just happened to find someone she wanted to share it with. She shows little girls that te can put yourself first and it’s not selfish o bitchy o “career-obsessed.” She was even willing to give up the restaurant to save Naveen from dying o having to marry someone he didn’t love. This shows that despite her ambition, she knows that human life and Amore and friendship are qualities più important and fulfilling than money and business. In the end, she gets it all! And she deserves it! I Amore the film PATF and just Amore seeing Tiana’s dreams come true! She’s a smart, hardworking, dedicated, proud, family-oriented, friendly woman who doesn’t believe in entitlement. Even as a frog, she doesn’t cry about it, she immediately just sees it as a road-block she must work through. She never cries about little stupid things. She is a good friend to Lottie, who it would be easy to envy and feel disdainful towards. She supports Lottie’s romantic frivolous dreams and doesn’t ever preach “Well I’m a businesswoman!” She’s a very good person and I just Amore her. Naveen never needs to rescue her really. She is the hero of the story, hands down. She is complex and has many internal struggles throughout the film, her devotion to her father, and her dreams interfering with having any life at all. Amore her.
Cons: She does feed those beignets to Big Daddy, who is clearly obese. I know this probably seems like a joke, but obesity is a serious issue and I can’t see why they mostra a morbidly obese man chowing down on beignets like it’s funny. Would it be funny if they had Tiana offer a toothbrush to help a bulimic character puke into a toilet? She’s also a tad flat in the personality area. She is ambitious and hardworking but her actions speak louder than her personality. She doesn’t have an “essence” that makes her stand out.
Conclusion: Great role model for children!

4. Pocahontas

Pros: She is a free-spirit and a dare-devil. She loves thrills and adventure and excitement. On the contrary of this, she is also very thoughtful. She’s inquisitive about spirituality and questioning about destiny and fate and her path in life. She believes that nature deserves to be treated with great respect. Meeko and Flit aren’t pets, they’re simply friends. Pocahontas doesn’t like men who take themselves too seriously. She would rather be with someone who can have an intellectual conversation while still enjoying the small, simple but beautiful things in life which she does during “Colors of the Wind.” She is non-judgmental to John Smith, she respects his culture and is even intrigued to learn about it. She’s not ignorant at all. She also defends her own culture when he decides to get sassy, mostrare him that there are things to be learned from people te think are beneath you. Her message about understanding and acceptance over hatred are SO important. I think Pocahontas actually stands for the most important message of all the princesses. She is a leader. She stays behind and breaks it off with Smith so that she can fulfill her passion of leading her people with wisdom. She knows that her life is più meaningful than the fling (don’t hate, romantics, I personally believe some people are meant to love, learn, then LEAVE our lives) she had for a few days. John Smith was a great guy and she really helped change his views. His learning experience was so crucial, it was the first example of how good Pocahontas is at impacting people with thoughts and understanding of others. If she could turn one bigot into such a rebel against the oppression of the Natives, imagine what her future could hold for her. I believe the compass was poiting to John Smith, but in a metaphoric sense, it was pointing Pocahontas towards ending the war. She learned that it wasn't John Smith so much that was her path, it was the path of peace and leadership and wisdom which she found through defending her father's enemy. Pocahontas is an extremely intelligent person. She has a sense of understanding about the world beyond her years. She’s doesn’t think she's perfect and accepts responsibility for her actions, like Kokoum’s death, which wasn’t even her fault. She is quite amazing of a character. I Amore the ending of this movie. So beautiful.
Cons: I prefer my superiore, in alto three princesses’ Film over Poca’s which often affects my complessivamente, generale perception of who’s the fave.
Conclusion: A wonderful, powerful heroic person that should be admired and respected da all.

3. Belle

Pros: She is humble but doesn’t back down o let herself get treated like a doormat. She is polite and respectful to even the most tedious people, like Gaston. She only opened the door and “humiliated” him because he barged into her home uninvited and pinned her against a door against her wishes. Belle may not be particularly pleased in her village, but it’s not like she goes around telling people that deserves better than a little town filled with little people. She thinks it to herself in song. Belle has a sense of humour, like when she pretends to think Gaston is talking about having seven dogs, when she knows perfectly well what he means. She also is very loving and protective of her father, which was refreshing since usually Disney portrays the daughters as in need of protection from the father. I’ve never been più touched da a familial bond in a Disney classic than Belle and Maurice. They are too too TOO cute! I Amore them! They’re such a sweet duo! I tear up thinking about them hugging! They both have each other’s backs and would defend each other until the end. Belle sacrificing herself is so selfless, she thinks she is going to be in that dingy little dungeon for the rest of her life! We’re talking about a girl who is restless in a village and wants to head out to a big adventure, how do te think she’ll feel in a tiny room until the giorno she dies?!? She is defiant of the Beast and never bows down to his aggressive behaviour. Not once. She’s a prisoner but she won’t go down without a fight. She’ll make that Beast regret the giorno he took her in. She is incredibly brave, he could very well rip her to bits! She probably thought she might as well risk it at this point because being dead can’t be much worse than being a prisoner to a monster. She is optimistic and enjoys exploring the castle, knowing very well she can leave at any time. The secondo the Beast becomes too mean for her to deal with, she ditches his sorry ass. She only nurses him because he risked his life for her. Even then, she doesn’t apologize for defying him. She’s not going to bow down and act like he’s god just because he did one nice thing. She probably would have nursed him and then snuck out in the night if he ever got mean again. Belle loves libri and has an actual passion. I Amore princesses who have something specific that they are just downright passionate about, be it a restaurant o human knick-knacks o books. She’s an amazing character and I ADORE her. Always will.
Cons: Nothing really. I Amore everything about Belle, I just relate to my others a bit more.
Conclusion: Belle is one of the most incredible characters Disney has to offer.

2. Mulan

Pros: She is clumsy, a slacker in memorizing her notes, finds lazy ways to not have to do her chores. She’s a human! She’s not a dainty perfect lady. She does little things that aren’t morally high and mighty but she’s clearly a good person. She is caring of her father’s health and defends a little girl from some bullies. She is also insecure beneath her beauty, because no matter what the outside says, she feels she is not destined to lead the kind of life expected for her. This is a really relatable thing for lots of us. The fact that society frowns upon her for being who she really is makes her an underdog, which makes it a million times più kick-ass when she proves that she is the ultimate hero of China. Her line “Now I see that if I were truly to be myself, I would break my family’s heart” is devastating and strikes true to me. She is under all the pressure of society to fit in because she loves her family and feels she owes it to them to make things look good for them. She is trying to be selfless but in the end, it’s killing her that she can’t be herself. She runs away in the night in order to sacrifice herself for her father, but in an astonishingly self-aware for a princess in a Disney movie moment, acknowledges that she also might have wanted to prove herself against society’s boundaries. She is hilarious in the matchmaker scene. When Mulan begins to achieve skills in the army, we all get chills down our spine. It is exhilarating to watch this girl who is so likeable and so misunderstood prove that she is really destined for greatness. I just Amore her dearly. Her and Shang’s Amore story is my favourite. They Amore each other based on mutual respect for each other’s bravery, honor, Amore for their parents etc. It’s so much less shallow than the others. Shang loves Mulan as a person first, and a woman second. She doesn’t need to be defined da a gender which is just a label society promotes anyway. She’s an amazing person and he loves her for it, as do I.
Cons: She has to use violence in her story, which is understandable but I am against violence in general. I understand the story would have less impact if she weren’t doing manly things, but I don’t like violence from men o women. Luckily, she kills people in a pretty quick humane way…I guess?
Conclusion: Mulan is ironically one of the most astoundingly epic Heroes in all of Disney as well as one of the most relatable and likeable.
