Principesse Disney Article: My View On Merida

Is that cute or what?!

I did a very child-like articolo on Disney Princesses having....

superpowers.

I'm pretty sure nobody except Jessikaroo read that article, and I thought a lot of people would because it's so unique!!! Sorry, my point is on that articolo I stated that I would be giving future rants on: Merida (present) and Cenerentola (past- it's already out) and now I am Scrivere for Merida's rant. Keep Leggere on! (In the future i'll also be typing fanpop's preferito Disney princesses on which will be published on New Years =D)

First of all...may I say that Merida is quite the rolemodel feminists want (not cool, fun, truthful, creative, charesmatic, beautiful feminists like me.)

They all want a perfect family movie. I do too but... I always leave Disney to making Film to themselves. They always impress me and they always warm my heart. First of all i'll point out on how I Amore how the family comes together. Merida and Elinor couldn't understand each other AT ALL- they had to face the hardest hardships! And I Amore that at the end they remain a good, happy family.

Why? Because in all the other Disney Princess Film there really was nothing for the parents to do- there was no relationship shown. (arguements arising) Sure Tiana had a mother but it's not like they worked together to make that dream, Maurice's only concept was to give Belle a parent and for someone to be the soon-to-be prisoner before Belle, Mother Gothel didn't have much of a relationship- same with Lady Tremaine, Aurora's parents don't have much of a relationship, etcetera.

secondo I want to tell te about her flaws. Although they all do...maybe Merida beat Ariel in the most voluminous hair and the most flaws.
FLAWS:
-anger
-being unable to explain (XD te hate me now)
-over-reacting
...gee I guess she didn't beat Ariel at that O.O Well this will be short-
The reason why I listed the flaws were because all te nag pants say "Oh...she doesn't have any flaws so I don't like her and bla bla bla bla bla" So te can all shut it. Also what's wrong with a perfect princess? That way pesky feminists can leave te the caramella fondente, fudge alone, and te don't have to waste your time typing long articoli about them ('cause that's my job XD J.K) Also I Amore how 2/3 of these flaws are the ones that Aurora has and everybody is hating Aurora for it!!! Actually...I don't like it.

Just to make this articolo longer, notice how much she changes throughout the movie. I'll admit, Ariel, Belle, Snow White, and some other princesses didn't change in an obvious notice. (well the movie didn't mostra it except for Belle finding love- like Ariel) But Merida? Boy she stood up for herself, took responsibility, helped her family a bit, and brought the entire kingdom to peace. te should watch your words because now- there's a big chance that te looked like an idiot before. (but I won't judge)

No full wide patterns either!

Finally to end this articolo I just want to say that I loved Ribelle - The Brave (hopefully i'm not alone on this) and Disney and Pixar did a great job on making Merida an awesome character. (However don't get your hopes up! She's in the MIDDLE of my list, and I don't want her added to the line up unless Disney and Pixar decides for that.)
(No i'm not done yet XD)

To me Merida represents courage and good change in people.

And now to end it with my preferito Merida picture!!!

Jessikaroo Love Brave, especially the mother-daughter dynamics I think Pixar really pulled off. Also love everything about Merida, especially her flaws, her strengths, her hair, her accent... I could go on. :) And hehe I'm sure more people than me read your superpower article.

Persephone713 Well written, but I just cant stand BRAVE or this Meridia. I don't like PIXAR labeling this the first " pro-female" movie from Disney cause that is a bunch of BS. Ariel and beyond were all very independent and strong willed young ladies. Im sorry but part of the fun of fairy-tales is watching good over come evil and a true love story. Fairy-tales have been that way for thousands of years. My favorite relationship is between Ariel and King Triton - I cry when I watch the ending now. Seeing how they go from having a communication and understanding problem to having a loving " father/daughter or Daddy's little girl" moment is something all fathers can relates to.

hajirah4 Thanks!!! pretty_angel92!!! And I totally respect your opinion Persephone713 but just to point out some facts, good over coming evil wasn't there for thousands of years. (DON'T READ IF YOU HATE INAPPROPRIATE STORIES) Sleeping Beauty actually got raped and woke up by one of her babies sucking her thumb, Ariel did suicide at the real story but H.C Andersen calmed the kids down a bit by saying the little mermaid became princess of the skies (or whatevs) and brought good upon people when the had no help. (right?) So I don't think rape and suicide are true love stories :P

hajirah4 Same here, but i'm fine with it if they add it to the line up. I just to want them to- but it's not like i'll create a protest against it :)

maryksand Very good article. While Brave is not my favourite Disney and not even my favourite Pixar movie (the latter position forever belongs to Finding Nemo), it was very quality and well made, especially when it comes to parent/children aspect and the way the mother/daughter conflict was addressed in the movie was very relatable despite the time the story took place and the arrange marriage theme that was used as a foundation for Elinor/Merida constant struggle. Merida's parents are definitely the most well developed and realistically written since King Triton as opposed to most of other Disney parents that barely have any personalities at all. The story does have some significant flaws and imo Merida's character was not as well developed as some other Disney princesses (for instance the theme of rebellion was much better executed in The Little Mermaid imo), however, overall it was a good piece of entertainment.

Sleeping Beauty With A Twist Part 6

Once again this isn't going very good for me and Aurora, we're down the creek without a paddle. Aurora was still crying but after a while she finally stopped crying. Her eyes were all red and puffy from all that cryting and I still felt bad for the poor little princess. But just when I thought she was about to start crying we saw out of excitment the three good fate Flora, Fauna, and Merrywheather.

"Aunt Flora, Fauna, Merrywheather I'm so glad to see you" detto Aurora as her sarrowful look turned into a smile. She than ran to the fate and gave each of them a hug, she almost started crying...
