BelleAnastasia Aladdin and Flynn are my top 2! Also Charming is my last, and Naveen is pretty low on my list. I wish Beast and Shang were slightly higher. But nice article and pretty pictures!

Swanpride Eh...it's less the arrogance, is the fact that Naveen plans to marry for money, in an ass to everyone he meets, and never really atones for anything...his big "sacrify" is to "allow" Lotti to kiss him and then to marry her...which is exactly the same thing a planed to do beforehand, he is just suddenly bad about it. Flynn on the other hand might be an egoist at the start of the movie, but he is rather ready to die than to allow Rapunzel to go through with his promise. Not "I can't live without her" like, for example, Eric, but "I rather die than allow you to do this." There is not one onze of egoism left in this, he is ready to give up everything. I wish Aladdin was lower and Phillip and Shang higher...they are both soooo underappreciated.

princesslullaby Yeah, I really appreciate this about Flynn a lot, I find him the most brave prince, he's great in that sense. I'm just not over the moon for him.

Swanpride Yeah, but it answers your question...another aspect is that "Flynn's arrogance" is not really "Eugene's Arrogance"...it's some sort of mask he wears. While with Naveen, he really is that way..., well he has some excuses, too, but really "I grew up in an orphanage and my dream of a better life was everything I had" is a way better excuse than "my parents spoiled me".

maryksand ^ Swanpride, you are absolutely spot on. Naveen's behaviour was the way it was because he genuinly enjoyed being that way, he had no sense of even the most basic respect towards other people as long as they were not as privileged as him, not to mention repeatedly and frequently mocking or humiliating them for their lower social standing and/or appearance as he does in relation to Tiana and his friend/servant. He didn't do it because he was misguided or recieved no help and support from the side of family or society but because it was a part of his personality and mindset - the ones he supposedly changes overnight which was incredibly rushed and out of the total blue. Flynn on the other hand is the opposite of being arrogant, because he is insecure to the point where he cannot even go by his real name and prefers to hide behind the image of a fictional character because a book (!) was the only thing he had in life. He literally had no other guidance and at some point he got off track with his life which is pretty understandable considering the situation. The image he was wearing in order to make something out of himself and try to measure up to his childhood ideal didn't bring anything into his life aside from further insecurities and he finds it hard to even reveal his real NAME to someone as well as doesn't initially want to share his backstory with said someone - who is genuinly ready to listen without judging - because it's too painful and he doesn't want to make excuses for himself and the wrong choices he happened to make (notice that he doesn't talk about the orphanage untill Rapunzel actually asks him to do it and even then he doesn't share that many details about his childhood rather than merely explaining how he became "Flynn Rider" - which was, as Swanpride mentioned, more of a mask rather than his actual personality). Naveen's "development" is going from initially wanting to marry for money and in the end being willing to do exactly the same thing, with the only difference that he decides to not be entirely horrible and keep his promise to Tiana to found her resturant. Flynn's development is dying for a girl he loved. That's why Naveen has nothing on Flynn in my eyes. Now for the ranking itself, I must say I'm extremely pleasantly surprized, although maybe for completely shallow reasons because it's very similar to my personal list. Aladdin and Flynn are tied for the first position for me - or, if I had to do an actual placement it would be Aladdin on the 1st place and Flynn on the second, and Eric is my number 3 as well. Phillip and Shang are exactly on the positions they are placed on this list as well for me, only in a different order, because I have Shang as number 4 and Phillip as number 5. Charming is higher on my list though.
