I have been here for a few months, and I noticed that I did not post my opinion of the weakest to strongest DP Film. Since it would not be fair to put all of these films together (as they were made in different times), I will do it in eras. The Classic Era is the era which were made when Walt Dianey was alive, so I will be doing Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Cinderella, and Sleeping Beauty.

[/b] 3. Sleeping Beauty [/b]

I know that this film is a classic, but I do think this is one of Walt Disney's weaker works. I know not a lot of te will agree, but just keep Leggere to know why I think so.

The Good
Even though I think this is one of Walt's weaker works, it does have some good qualities in it. The best thing about this film is the animations; this has to be one of the most beautifully animated (if not the most) Disney films. The character designs are very well-done, and their movements are extremely realistic. The backgeounds are extremely detailed and realistic (not too realistic), that it makes te feel like te are in the middle of the forest, o in the cottage with the fairies. Another aspect that this film is good in is the soundtrack. There are only really 3 songs in this movie; "Hail to Princess Aurora" is a decent, but not memorable song, "I Wonder" is beautifully sung and instrumented, which could also be detto for the most well-known song in the movie "Once Upon A Dream". This soundtrack and animazione really went in depth of the Musica and look of the medieval times, and because of this, te feel like it is in the actual Medeival times, instead of a made-up copy of the Medeival times (if te could tell the difference)

Not Good
While the animazione and soundtrack is divine, I really can not put much più in the good category. What I think could definitely have been improved in this film are the characters. Most of the characters are barely one-dimensional and bland, except for the fairies. The rest of the characters (including Maleficent) just feel like cardboard cutouts of archetypes without being dato any unique personality. They are also not interesting to watch, and it is hard to get invested in the movie when the characters are non-investible. Another issue in this movie is the pacing. I say this because there are più than a few scenes that are shorter o longer than they should be, which becomes pretty tedious. The scenes with the fate finding out what to do about baby Aurora, the forest scene, the Kings getting drunk scene, and the setting up Aurora's suprise birthday are too long, and ends up becoming unnecessary filler (I know all Disney films in Walt's days had filler scenes, but it is the way that they are organized that makes it stronger o weaker. I do not think anything is wrong with the plot, but the way that it is executed is what ultimately weakens the film. A lot of things to unexplained; (how did the fate provide clothing and Cibo for over 15 years and they have need made Cibo o clothing before, why is Maleficent doing this, etc)

Overall
Even though the film has beautiful animation, a wonderful soundtrack, and a few engaging characters and scenes, the mostly unengaging characters, badly executed plot, and unexplained issues is why I think it is the weakest of the three.

2. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs

The very first Walt Disney film has set the milestone for traditional animazione (heck, animazione in general) in 1937, and is the company's most well-known films. While I do not think it is the best Disney film, I do think it is one of the better films in his era.

Good
Like most of the WDAS films, this movie has a great soundtrack and animation. The soundtrack sounds like the 1930's, te could tell it is not for cultura pop reasons. The songs are happy, old-fashioned, and innocent, which describes the film perfectly. The scores does what it is supposed to do, and it sets the mood perfectly, whether it is dark o easygoing. The animazione is good as well. The character designs are very interesting (look at the Old Hag, Snow White, and the Seven Dwarfs), and it works for the film, and the backgeounds are beautiful, detailed, and a bit kiddy (if that makes sense). Most of the characters are engaging as well; Snow White is innocent, youthful, bossy, and is sweetly sarcastic, the Queen is bitter, resentful, snobby, insecure, and a train wreck, and the Seven Dwarfs work off so well together (no commento on the Huntsman and Prince).

Not Good
While the film is good, it is not flawless and has a few issues to it. While some characters are good, others are not. The Huntsman and the Prince are just dull and bland. They just seem like plot devices in the form of humans (I know that they were having a hard time trying to animate a realistic male, but they could have made them a bit più interesting). Since them film is the first film WDAS did, it does suffer from breaking away from being a short. I say this because the simple plot is stretched da filler scenes, and it has a lot of slapstick that would be beneficial for a short film. Some scenes are dragged for way too long (the Dwarfs going to their room, them washing their hands), and it becomes easy to lose focus. Another issue is that while the animazione is good, the movements of the characters are kind of unrealistic and stiff. A lot of the time, Snow White and the Queen moves very awkwardly, and the Huntsman and Prince's movements are very stiff.

Overall.
The first DP movie has a good soundtrack, great animazione (despite bad movemenet of characters), mostly likeable characters, and a fgoos plot, but it's dragged out scenes, stiff movement, and some plot devices that are disguised as humans hold it back from being the best Classic DP film.

1. Cenerentola

This spot was hard to decide between this and Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, but I gave it to Cenerentola for a few reasons. The film that saved WDAS in the 50s, is the best DP movie to me.

Good
There are a lot of things that are good in this movie. One aspect that has it covers is the animation. It is not as detailed as either Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs o Sleeping Beauty, but the scale and style of the animazione is extravagant. The soundtrack is soothing, melodic, and refined, with the most well known songs in Disney "Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo", and "A Dream is a Wish Your cuore Makes". The movement in the characters are a big improvement over Sniw Whire and the Seven Dwarfs (it filmed most of the scenes in live action first, then animated it using the live action reference for base). The story is the basic Cenerentola story, and is for the most part, executed well. All of the characters (except Charming) are engaging, likeable in their own way, and are investible. This film replicated the formula of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, but improved it.

Not Good
There is not a lot of bad things that are in Cinderella, but there are a few issues with it. The first issue is that the first half of the house is spent with the topo, mouse just roaming around the house, running away from Lucifer, o helping Cinderella. This time could have been spent developing Cinderella, Lady Tremaine, the King, o Prince Charming. It also does not help that the mice are not very likeable, as their voices are somewhat annoying. Because of this, there is some filler scenes, but they are used to better enhance the movie più than the other two movies. Another tissue with this film is that it is too much Sugar, and not enough Tar. This is the formula that most of Disney's earlier films had, some dark parts and some sweet parts in the film, and Cenerentola is just lacking the dark parts and has too much sweet. Another one is the plot device known as Prince Charming

Overall
Even though it has a few issues, almost everything about it works to it's advantage and makes a strong film. This is above Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is because it enhances the characters and plot più consistently than the others and uses the filler scenes better than the others.

Thank everyone who read my article. Please commento below to share your opinions about the results and these films.

I'm counting this as opinion(Ik its as list) cuz it all took me, like, 2 hours to lista these out. I Amore them all so much!

10. Snow White
Don't get me wrong, I Amore HER. But there just isn't a lot to relate to with her. She ran away because she was being hunted down, she died, got kissed and came back to life. So, since I really can't relate to her, I put her here. Sorry Snow, I still luv ya!

9. Jasmine
Again this was MEGA hard to put her here, cuz I Amore her! But I just can't relate to her, again. I mean, I've never really been in her situation, and I can't get over the whole "Magic lamp" thing...
