Snow White ___________________________

In the beginning of the Grimm's Tale Schneewittchen, Snow White's mother pricks her finger with a sewing needle and three drops of her blood fall onto the snow which lay on the ebony windowsill. Oddly enough, this made her long for a daughter of a similar color scheme. While this reflects the arc of the story: (white)innocence, (red)maturity & love, and (black)death, her name particularly represents a season when the world metaphorically sleeps only to be inevitably awakened with the coming of spring.

_______________________________ Cinderella

Omitted from the Disney version of the fairytale, Cenerentola was actually the cruel nickname dato to her da her stepsisters for sitting at the dying cinders of the fuoco after her long days work. Cinderella's real name is never mentioned. Cinders have a number of symbolic meanings from being merely a fonte of warmth and a hidden fuoco to represent rebirth in the story of the Firebird o Phoenix. In myth, the creature would die in the fiery blaze of its nest only to rise again reborn from the ashes signifying a rise to glory from the lowest of places.

Aurora ________________________________

Latin for "light" o "dawn", Aurora is her royal name dato da her parents. It may be stated in the film that this was "because she filled their lives with sunshine" but its also fitting for this princess since dawn is the time when the sleeping world awakes. It's no accident that she falls asleep at dusk and awakes upon sunrise. Incidentally one may recall her "hair of sunshine gold" but her "lips that shame the red red rose" are più linked to her secondo name.

Briar Rose ________________________________

Briar Rose, a pseudonymn dato da her fairy godmothers also has poetic meaning. The first word BRIAR, a mass of thorny plants obviously makes sense with the story's motif but a rose also has numerous conotations. rose have represented love, beauty, virtue, femininity, and virginity hence why it is also a symbol of the Virgin Mary. But a briar rose is a thing of beauty surrounded da harsh thorny bramble -- much like Aurora herself in the castello surrounded da the forest of thorns.

__________________________________ Ariel

Ariel's name probably has the most mysterious of origins but there are two possible sources that equally make sense. Song writers Alan Menken and Howard Ashman (both of Jewish heritage) had a surprising amount of creative input in the story having named several of Ariel's sisters. This could leave reason to suspect they may have also suggested the name Ariel, Hebrew for "Lion of God". Lions are well known symbols of strength and courage.

The secondo possibility which actually ties into the first is the connection to the word 'ARIA'. Hebrew for "lioness". However in Italian it means "air" and is a musical term for a solo vocal piece with a light instrumental accompaniment. This probably makes the most sense considering music, and not lions, is the most obvious if not significant factor in Ariel's story.

Belle ________________________________

The most straight inoltrare, avanti of names, Belle is literally French for "beauty". Granted this makes sense since Belle's character is meant be physically attractive. However beauty is not just restricted to our visual sense but can encompass all the senses and even that of our spirit. Intended to contrast the physical ugliness of the beast, Belle's purpose in the story is ultimately to transform the beast's soul to match the beauty of her own. She is everything the beast must aspire to be.

________________________________ Jasmine

Most people assume gelsomino is merely a reference to the gelsomino fiore and to a certain degree it is. gelsomino is actually indigenous to the Middle East. Known as "yasmine" to the natives, the fiore is so pleasantly fragrant that the name translates to "gift from God" in Arabic. In the western world it can represent sensuality, elegance, and modesty -- a particular virtue Aladdin o Ali Ababwa must obtain to win the cuore of the princess.

Pocahontas _________________________

Pocahontas is unique being that she is the only Disney Princess whom we know actually existed. Historically she is known da three separate names. Powhattan for "little mischief", Pocahontas was actually a nickname dato to her because of her precocious and playful nature. Her real name was Matoaka o "bright stream between the hills". This can easily be linked to her affinity for rivers in the film. Her third name Rebecca, which she adopted after being baptized, is Hebrew for "to bind o bring together" and this is exactly what she did for her people and the Jamestown settlers.

___________________________________ Mulan

The story of Mulan is not a fairytale but a legend potentially based on real events of a woman named Hua Mulan which literally translates to "flower wood orchid", o the magnolia. Magnolias are a symbol of perseverance and nobility. The film makes reference to this in the scene when Mulan and her father sit beneath the magnolia tree. Her father subtly parallels his daughter to a late magnolia [mulan] blossom and how it will one giorno be the most beautiful of all.

Tiana ___________________________________

Potentially derived from the Greek word 'TIANI' meaning "princess", being a popolare name among African-Americans it may be fitting that the first black Disney Princess was named Tiana. However this was not her first name choice. Originally her name was Maddy but was deemed too racially insensitive. This is odd since Maddy is short for Madeline derived from Magdeline. Mary Magdeline was a friend of Gesù and only disciple strong enough to witness his crucifixion and the first to witness his resurrection -- a woman who went on a long journey and acheived a great spiritual transformation.

_______________________________ Rapunzel

Also known as "rampion" o "bellflower", rapunzel is an edible plant. In the Grimm's Tale, it was specifically this plant that a poor man ha rubato, stola from a witch's garden to feed his pregnant wife. As punishment, the witch took the poor couple's daughter and raised her away in a tower without any doors o stairs. This plant is not only beautiful but is also noted for its ability to grow in very inhospitable soils. Rapunzel is very much like her namesake plant in that she too flourishes in beauty, kindness and curiosity despite being locked away in a cruel world. (she will also be the first Disney Princess who's main color is purple.)
 Brotherly Amore
Brotherly love
Hi guys, since I had compare both Titanic and Frozen. There is another movie that I notice that is similar to the latter, and that movie is Brother Bear.

Brother Bear

Apart from the sibling love, Kenai actually reminds me of Elsa, because like Elsa, he needs to have brotherly Amore with Koda. He was also mistakenly thought to be the same orso in his brother, Denahi's eyes that killed his 2 brothers and became vengeful until the ending scene when Kenai gets turn back into a human.
Koda is very much like Anna, because they're both optimistic. It wasn't until that he found out the truth that Kenai...

Disney Princess Film deserves più weddings
Disney Princess movies deserves more weddings
After the articolo of wedding gowns for DPs, it got me thinking as to how would each princess get married, what would be the theme of the wedding and so on. I Amore weddings! So, I have thought of theme based weddings for all princesses. Hope te enjoy this. This part talks about only classic princesses.

Snow: The Come d’incanto Woods
After all the life and death crisis, I think a private forest wedding ceremony, just between the prince(and his close family) and the dwarfs would be a harmonious affair. After all, this is where she found her life back and the family she's ever known. And being her,...

Hello everyone!
I'm ezilo25 and this is my very first articolo on this site! I wanted to do something special, and since I have read the Grimms Tale in German my whole life, I wanted to do a comparison of Disney movie adaptations and the Tales of Grimm. So, let's get started! Oh, and excuse me if I do grammatical

Cinderella

Oh, Cinderelli... I adore the Disney character, I am passionate about the animazione movie, but I am in Amore with Aschenputtel, the Grimms version of the Cinderella. Yes, I know, the movie is inspired da the Perrault version, which...

I postato this on the Frizen fan club while back and now I'm posting it here.

Everyone on here that knows pretty much knows how much I Amore Anna and despise Elsa. I mean, I certainly like Elsa più than I did when I joined in July, but I really hated her when I joined. So that's not saying much.

Right now, Elsa is twelfth place on my Disney Princesses as opposed to thirteenth place like she was when I first joined, while Anna made it to the top, instead of secondo place. So, both have moved up on my list, but Anna is still way in front of Elsa on my list.

It may not come as a surprise, since Elsa...

Who doesn't Amore travel?

Well, I mean, I'm sure there are people who, beyond my comprehension, don't enjoy exploring other parts of the big wide world. But I Amore travel. And I'm sure the Princesses would too. So here are the places the Disney Princesses would enjoy vacationing to. *Disclaimer: I have never been to these cities, so if I sound stupid, have mercy! I got most of my information from the internet.*

Snow White: Glorenza (Glurns), Italy

Snow White would Amore to visit this tiny town in northern Italy, near the border with Switzerland. Since it is so small, with a population of only...

I did say I was going to write Natale related articoli here, but I've been wanting to write this one for a while, but I've been putting it off because I thought that pretty much everyone had the same list, but after thinking about it some parts of the lista can variate from person to person though I believe that most of te will agree with my superiore, in alto 5. Anyway this was da far the hardest lista I've ever written, the superiore, in alto 5 where settled in stone, but the rest where really hard to place. I based this on many aspects, but mostly on if the princess has both her parents alive, one parent alive o is...

I'm sorry but I disagree with each side. I mean I agree with each side but I don't. I think both sides of the argument are taking things way too far, and it doesn't need to.

Frozen fan need to just accept that not everyone likes this movie and Frozen haters need to learn that they are being just as rude as the Frozen fan and they just need to stop.

Both sides really need to stop because they're ruining this movie for me. They already ruined Elsa for me, and soon, I'll hate the whole thing, even Anna, who's my preferito DP.

 Honorary Mention: Cinderella's Father
Honorary Mention: Cinderella's Father
Okay so I basically grew up without parents in a large sense. That being said, I always yearned for a loving, stable and consistent mother and father to teach morals, values, effective and constructive communication, consequences for actions, real love, respect, trust, honor, etc. Since Walt Disney founded the company under those family and character-based values, I have always been very attached to the Disney brand. That being said, I was thinking about the Disney Princesses' parents and if I could have traded my childhood situation with one of them, which would it be? Since I also Amore lists...

Happy Halloween! After much thinking about this, I think I finally came up with another articolo that i'm sure would be interesting to talk about.

Everything lives in a balance. there can't be good without bad, light without darkness, etc etc...The dichtonomy of ying-yang and how they complement each other is a subject that I find fascinating to read about, and mostly to apply it to other things. Something interesting i noted is how often in Disney the villains are pretty much the exact opposite of the heroes, but they often sometimes come from a same base. And in that base, they have much in...

I find majority of the DP Film to be a bit scary, but that doesn't mean that it's impossible to make a lista of the scariest movies, but it wasn't an easy lista to do, but as usual I hope you'll enjoy this article

12. Cinderella

Okay so the bottom 3 are the only ones I'm really sure about and especially number 12, I mean do I even need to explain why it's last? But luckily it's there for a good reason, but despite being last it does have a few scary moments, but nowhere near as much as the Film above

11. Frozen

This movie also lacks scary moments, but I placed it higher because it...
