 This is not Narnia!!
This is not Narnia!!
Hi guys, I managed to watch the Nutcracker and the 4 Realms today and I was blown away da the movie overall. So here is my review on it!

The Story-Line

Okay, so the film is very much like the Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe. To which I will talk about it later, but the film draws me in because the story is very unusual and it really captivates the audience and follow Klara, the main protagonist throughout the film.
As usual, it has a happy ending where Klara and her father reunites after having a strained relationship during the beginning of the film.

The Music

In the traditions of Disney's Sleeping Beauty, the Musica borrow elements from Tchaikovsky's ballet in which we are all certain points of the film. Including the ending where we have a happy ending for everyone, reminds me of Strauss II's famous waltzes!

In a Disney Connection

As mentioned, the film has connections to 2 Disney films and they are The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe and Disney's Fantasia. If te notice that when Clara enters into the cupboard, it is very similar to when Lucy discovers Narnia for the first time and it is very breathtaking!
On Disney's Fantasia, the orchestra plays a homage during the ballet scene to The Philharmonic Orchestra and Leopold Stokowski when he was conducting J.S. Bach Toccata and Fugue.

The Characters

Klara strikes me as Belle from Beauty and the Beast, because she is a very independent protagonist and I Amore her relationship with her siblings. As mentioned, I was also delighted that she reconciled with her father at the end of the film!
The Sugar prugna fairy is very much like Hans, and when I found out about this. I actually freak out! I could not believe it at all, but she got what she deserves in the end.
Both the fiore Realm and Snow Realm Kings remind me of Cogsworth and Lumiere from Beauty and the Beast, mainly because they provide comic relief in the film despite only appearing for a few minuti of screen-time.
Captain Philip Hoffman, who's surname is a homage to T.E. Hoffman who wrote the original story of The Nutcracker, reminds me of Kristoff because he strikes a friendship with Clara.
Finally, Mother Ginger is actually a misguided character. She does not strikes me as evil at all from her appearance!

An Early Natale Start

Despite the negative critics, te might give this movie a try.

I'm going to organize this the same way rhythmicmagic did. I decided to combine the Heroes with the heroines but my descriptions will be a bit shorter.

Favorite Animal Heroine: Bianca
She reminds me a bit of Aurora as she puts duty over everything. Adding to that, she's also feminine, elegant and graceful. Her caring nature and compassion make her so lovely. Also, Bianca and Bernard are one of my preferito Disney couples.

Favorite Animal Hero: Bagheera
I've always loved Bagheera, he's so humble, mature, smart and caring. He's constantly worried about Mowgli, I think that's really sweet....

Classic short featuring Donald in conflict (of course!), this time with a flying squirrel. Normally I have lots of sympathy for Donald, but in this one he has it coming.
