Just as a supplement to tigerlady's answer...

Once you've signed in to ffnet and have gone into the document manager (under publish), the successivo step is to carica the chapter te are trying to invia da clicking on 'browze', selecting the chapter file and clicking on 'open' (be sure to have each chapter saved on your computer as a separate document -- most readers find it più difficult to read a multichaptered story that has been uploaded as one chapter). Name your chapter in the section above called 'label'. Click 'submit document'.

You'll see the document loaded, and this is the time to click 'edit/preview' to check that everything has loaded properly (ffnet can't always process certain symbols and lines, so te can fix this - possibly with an alternative - here). Remember to save once you've edited (at the bottom of the page)!

Now you're going to either click on 'new story' o 'manage stories' (underneath 'doc manager' on the left). te may have to read the guidlines before te can invia anything (just a quick glance will do) and click on 'yes, I have read and agreed to the content guidlines' at the bottom of the page. Once you've done that, select 'new story' again.

In 'new story' te will first select your sort type (normal/crossover), then your category. Click 'continue'. Now you'll get to the page where te make the title/summary/etc. Make sure te fill everything in. At the bottom it'll ask te to select a document to submit. When te click this te will see the document te uploaded in your doc manager ready to be submitted. Now, pubblica your story!

If you're adding a chapter to a story you've previously submitted, you'll go to 'manage stories' on the left. Select the name of the story te want to update and it will take te to a page similar to the one te encountered when submitting a new story. At the superiore, in alto of the page you'll see four options: 'properties', 'content/chapters', 'live preview', 'download/backup'. Select 'content/chapters'. Under 'add new chapter', click 'submit document' and select your successivo chapter file. Click 'add chapter'.

And there te have it, all of the steps laid out! :) This took me quite a while to figure out myself when I was first starting out - but you'll get used to it pretty quickly!

Oh, well - Are te on a Mac o a PC? What program are te using to type your story? (Microsoft Word on PC is what I use, but I may be able to help te with something else...)

I understand the problem completly! It took me ages to work it out! And even longer to work out how to update! Now, first te have to carica the file. te click on 'Doc Manager'. Find the bit where it says 'Upload New Document'. The box labelled 'Label' is what te want the uploaded document to be called (not what the published fic will be called. For example, if it is a multichapter fic te cant label it 'Chapter 1'). Under that is the 'Browse' button. Click on that and a small window will appear. te then just have to find your fil from where te saved it (my guess is that it will be in 'Documents')
