Close your eyes through your entire practice session. Do not picture your way around the fretboard, hear your way around it.
Hear yourself to the successivo note, to the next, chord, to the successivo scale. It should be a relaxed exercise, not a strained one. Like when you're at a distance from a battery powered clock.
If te strain to listen to its tick te cant hear it but when te relax and allow it to come to you, te can hear it clearly.
