Who actually staged the fake crash of Oceanic 815 at the bottom of the ocean, Ben o Widmore?

I'm kind of confused, because didn't Ben say that Widmore was the one who set it up? But the people on the freighter and Miles(was he was listening to that dead guy in the latest episode) say that Ben did it. So, what really happened?

In "Some like it Hoth" the dead body tells Miles that he was delivering a purchase order for a plane and foto of graves. So I think we are to presume that Widmore staged the crash. However this is Lost and that may not be the case...
