The Shangri-Las - I Can Never Go Home Anymore

Since last I posted my mom got worse and her body is still here but mentally she's not. That person I grew up with and loved is gone and no longer knows me, sadly. Always reminds me she's gone and how much I hate dementia! So, yeah this song sucks pretty much 😭

This song has a pretty straight-forward meaning, but you can take it a few different ways and apply it to various situations/people. It's a great song regardless.

Bittersweet Symphony by The Verve
A classic from my teens! Still love it. It's one of those songs where whether you're going thru something personal or just having a bad day it just resonates no matter what your feeling or the situation.

This song breaks me every time. It was played at my friend's wedding. It was the last time I saw him before he was killed in a motorcycle accident. He was my friend, my 'uncle' and my cheerleader and I miss him everyday. R.I.P Maurice 🙏

This song doesn't necessarily remind me of one particular person but it does remind of all my childhood friends that grew up and suddenly wanted to hang out with the popular kids, only and I'm basically their kryptonite! *lol* (I think we can all relate to that)

*short backstory, Messer is just an alter ego created by Mitch Grassi (PTX & Superfruit) this is a music project he started during the quarantine. The sound is punk meets electronic, I guess? 😊

This is my second favorite song to hear live (aside from "Shout") and it is incredible. I've seen them 3 times in concert now and they always close with this and it's the perfect song to close to because it just gives you a giddy high and leaves you wanting more!

This song reminds me of my favorite English teacher, as it was one of the many he used in a fun game, where he showed us a song translation and made us guess its name. Unfortunately, he sadly passed away this year due to Covid 😥
