The penguins headed to the H.Q. Private seemed aroused.

"Oh, boy! I can't wait to meet the new otter! I bet Marlene feels the same! They'll make a perfect couple!" Private exclaimed.

"Private, be quiet!" Skipper snarled.

That night, Skipper couldn't fall asleep. He tossed and turned, there simply was too much on his mind. He closed his eyes and began to count fish. It was only a matter of time before he fell asleep.

The hatch opened slowly, causing the light of the moon to stream in the room. A broad figure tip-toed in. The mysterious guest grabbed the handle of Kowalski's lab's door. It was locked. The figure forcefully slammed into the door, which caused it to fall over under the brute strength. Soon, he proceeded out, but not without glancing at Skipper and chuckling, with several papers in its grasp.

Early the successivo day, Skipper woke up in a crabby mood, but seemed to be the only one.

"Ready, to meet the new arrival, Skipper?" Kowalski asked.

"Ready, as I'll ever be." Skipper moaned.

The sky was full of clouds and the air was humid. Marlene walked with them to the zoo's garage, where the gabbia, cassa waited for them. Skipper walked da Marlene, who looked anxious, he felt as if he was loosing her. If this lontra was anything he had heard she would soon fall in Amore and forget about him. It was his last chance, but he couldn't. Maybe, Marlene belonged with her own kind. Marlene looked over at him with concern.

"Are te okay?" Marlene asked.

"Perfect. Can I talk to te alone?" Skipper sheepishly asked.

"Yeah, is there something wrong?"

"No, I just wanted to say ... I hope he's everything te wanted."

"Thanks, me too."

Rico spit up a crowbar and opened the crate. Inside, was a skinny, but musclular lontra sleeping with a oro Spainish gutiar successivo to him. Marlene's eyes opened wide, he was so handesome. Marlene cautiously stepped closer.

"Hello, my name's Marlene."

"I'm Antonio, nice to meet you." He spoke with a romantic, thick Spanish accent, and stood up revealing a furry 'six-pack'.

"Where am I, exactly?" Antiono asked.

"The Central Park Zoo! You'll be sharing a habitat with Marlene." Private explained.

"Let me mostra Antonio around the zoo, guys." Marlene said. They both headed out of the box auto, garage together. Marlene looked back at Skipper who looked full of bitterness, but not toward her.

"If he really hoped, 'Antonio was everything I wanted,' why did he react that way." Marlene thought to herself.

"So, te play Spanish gutiar and is it really made of gold?" Marlene nervously asked.

"Yes and yes, do te play?"

"Well, I really don't know how to actually play, but I do play it."

Antonio laughed, "I could teach you," he offered.

"That would be great!" Marlene exclaimed.

"Who were those penguins?"

"Oh, the tall one's name is Kowalski, the one with the feathers sticking up from his head is Rico, the shortest one is Private, and Skipper is -"

"Was he the one with the weird flat head?"

"I don't think it's weird, I kinda think it's ... um, nevermind,"

"Oh, I see, te must like him. Well, I know, he sadly doesn't feel the same way."

"Good, because I don't like him."

Just then, Julien leaped out in front of them. He crossed arms across his chest. Behind him were his loyal subjects.

"You better be backing off of my ladyfriend, buddy!" Julien demmanded

"Whoa, whoa, whoa girlfriend?" Antonio asked puzzled.

"Your Majesty, te sure te wanna be doing that?" Maurice asked cautiously.

"Shush, Maurice, I'm wooing her."

"No, Julien, I told you, I'm not your girlfriend."

"But of course te are. te are taking me, your king to the dance."

"Dance?"

"Oh, yeah, I didn't get to that yet. On Friday, there's a dance and eveybody's bringing a date, but I'm not sure who I'm going with - yet."

"Good to know," Antonio said.

"Alright, buddy, let's go." Julien detto raising his fists. Antonio simply laughed.

"You don't want to be messing with me, lemur. I can get pretty wild in fights, but Marlene is no trophy to be won da fighting. I'll only fight te if you're bothering her, which it seems te are." Antonio thrusted a fist into his other hand which was cupped. Only then did Julien notice how buff his rival was, and gulped. He stepped back.

"Okay, okay, te can have her!" julien cried and fled into the habitat in shame.

"Thanks, for getting him to stop annoying me."

"No problem, is he always that annoying?"

"Pretty much." Marlene sighed. They both laughed, and walked around the zoo, until dusk. They watched the sun go down on the bench, while Antonio played his gutiar. Marlene felt comfortable around him, and even liked him. She also, knew she liked some one else, but wasn't about to admit it. What could she do? Probably, Antonio was the one who really had feelings for her.

"I know, this sounds strange, but ...."

"What is it?"

"I feel something ... magical about us together, I know, we just met. I sound like a sappy romantic, right now, but I think we would be great together." Antonio admitted.

'Skipper would never say something like that to me.' Marlene thought to herself, but she couldn't get herself to say yes.

"I think, we're moving a little too fast."

"Alright, I'll wait." Antonio said.

"Thank you, I'm sorry."

"Maybe, we should go to the habitat, now."

"Yeah, I'll be right back."

Marlene skipped to the penguins' habitat extremely joyfully. Skipper was sitting down with a pesce smoothie. Private was talking to him and looked serious.

"Ooh, how did it go?!" Private asked cheerfully.

"Actually, he detto he felt 'something magical about us together." Marlene detto with a gigantic smile across her face.

"Oh, .... um, .... well he's moving pretty fast there. He might be a spy." Skipper murmured and stirred his smoothie. Everyone stared at him.

"Well, I think it was sweet the way he came out and detto it." Marlene protested.

"I kind of agree with Skipper, Marlene. Rushing into this, might be a sign of just using you." Kowalski explained.

"Really? I don't know, guys. He seems quiet romantic, and not really that type of guy." Marlene admitted.

"Be careful, Marlene." Private warned. Once Marlene left the penguins began to contuine their discussion with Skipper.

"You don't really think he's a spy, do you?"
Kowalski asked.

"No, I just ... I like her okay!" Skipper shouted.

"Marlene?" Rico bewilderedly asked.

"Yes, and Antonio is going to steal her from me before I can get the guts to tell her." Skipper sighed.

"You know, Skippah. te can tell Marlene how te feel. I know, she won't laugh at you, and if she does say 'no,' if te really cared and te both were meant to be, te should let her go. You'll always have us, Skippah." Private explained.

"Your words insipire me, Private." Skipper admitted. The other penguins left Skipper alone they whispered to one another lowly.

"This is really bothering Skipper." Kowalski whispered.

"I don't even want to imagine what he'd be like if he Lost us." Private whimpered.

Skipper had taken his time to get back from Marlene’s so he could piece together the best words to explain his and Marlene’s relationship, especially to young Private.

He entered through the fishbowl entrance as he usually would, and turned to face his team. Much to his surprise the three were standing facing him, almost as if they expected him.

“Skipper I believe there’s something te need to tell these two.” Kowalski stated as he motioned his flipper first towards Rico then Private. The two of the stared at Skipper anxiously, waiting to hear what Kowalski was talking about.

Unfortunate for the cerca to conclude in failure. Of course, one couldn’t complain when two of the three penguins that engaged the mission had been lacking in effort. The third penguin, Rico, had found something rather interesting. A gray crowbar partially stained with blood of seemingly unknown origin. Normally, the explosives expert tended to ingoiare, inghiottire any sort of object that sparked his interest, which, in this case, was so.

Now, at this point, Skipper and Kowalski really didn’t care for Private’s case, much to the small penguin’s delight. And then, typically, life went on as it had,...

In fact, that night, Private had much difficulty in falling asleep. Simply the thought of a friend who was in need prevented the pinguino from sleeping. He wondered if Rico was awake, too. He certainly hoped not. Private only wished the best for the regurgitating penguin.

Suddenly, a noise from below grasped Private’s full attention. On first inspection, it was difficult to determine what the sound was. Luckily, Private merely turned his head to the side and caught the perfect glimpse of Rico’s back. The heavyset pinguino was slowly heading towards the television. This baffled Private, for...

Despite the fact that it was well early in the morning, the injured Private was dato a few hours to himself for rest and recovery. Skipper stayed true to his word, being sure as to give Private his privacy throughout the entire day. Having done this, the leader also granted the rest of the team absolute freedom for the day. Hopefully, this would give the other penguins some time to themselves. After Private’s unexpected disappearance, it was probably for the best.

Taking advantage of these moments, Kowalski chose to sit in a corner of the room, Scrivere all of his thoughts on his notepad....

The rats lead Skipper away on the steel cage. This time he knew better than to struggle, he might as well save his energy for what was coming. ‘Well,’ thinks Skipper ‘I guess that this is the moment of truth.’ The sound of footsteps and the repugnant smell went away after a while and a few moments later Skipper felt himself being lowered down again. The cover is pulled away; Skipper blinks in the sudden light as his eyes adjust. In front of him stood Kowalski, Rico, and Private, all seeming exceedingly happy. Skipper was back inside his lair. The rats climb back outside chuckling as...

Skipper: Kowalski? Rico? Private? Anyone? All my men seem to be gone. Perhaps they’re at Marlene’s.
[He sneaks over to Marlene’s habitat, careful to not be seen]
Skipper: Marlene? Marlene! She seems to be gone to! This must be a complot, but from who? The only suspicious activity I have seen came from…[Gasps] Kowalski!
[Skipper quickly rushes to the lemure habitat. After much searching (even underneath the "RoyalThrone")he finds it empty]

Chapter 2: "Career Change"

Liz glanced at her daughter in the back sede, sedile through the rearview mirror of her silver Subaru Outback. "So, have te named your little Friends yet?"

"Yes." Chelsea held Skipper up. "This is Mr. Penguin." And then held up Marlene. "And this is Mrs. Penguin."

"No, no, sweetie. The brown one is an otter. Remember the story I told te in the gift shop?"

"I know she's an otter, Mom. But she changed her name when she got married."

"Married?"...

Marlene yawned. “Thanks for taking me to that Enrique Guitaro concert, guys,” she detto to the penguins as they drove her home. “It went a lot better than last time. And going backstage? That was”—she yawned again as if she hadn’t slept in days—“really awesome,” she finished.

Skipper chuckled from his place to the right of her. “I don’t think staying up all the way to one in the morning is a good idea for you.”

Marlene shook her head. “No, no, I’m awake.” She fought off another yawn and rubbed her eyes. “Tack as a sharp.”

“Hey, aren’t te those penguins from the aquarium?” Fred interrupted as he approached them.

Skipper rolled his eyes. “Zoo, actually. What do te want, Fred? We’re in the middle of something,” he asked impatiently.

“Yeah, I’m in the middle of something too. I think it’s called Central Park. Anyway, I was just wondering, is that lontra friend of yours...

“Well, remember a couple of weeks fa when te detto you’ve always wanted to stargaze, but couldn’t because of the bright city lights?” Skipper asked, preparing to remove the blindfold.

    “Yes, why?” Marlene answered.

Skipper pulled off the blindfold. “That’s why,” he detto with a grin.

“Maurice!” Julien cried from his throne.

Maurice trudged up to him, not even trying to hide his contempt. “Yes, your majesty?”

“I need another smoothie,” Julien said, propping his head up with one paw while rubbing his chest with the other. He coughed and wheezed. “I can feel my time approaching . . . so make it with extra mango for the extra sweet-y-ness-ness . . .”

Maurice rolled his eyes. “You detto your time was approaching two days ago,” he said.

“Well, how should I know, Maurice? I am not Clair’s Voyage!” Julien detto before coughing again.

“Morning, Nari!” Marlene detto one morning, excitedly nudging her habitat-mate and adoptive sister. “Come on, wake up!” she urged, eager to get out in the Monterey sun.

Marlene laughed and pulled her arm. “Don’t be a wimp! Come on! Let’s go for a swim!”

The two went outside their cave-like room out into the California spring morning, Marlene at the lead while Nari lagged behind. Marlene colomba into their pond while...
