Which would elicit più grief?

The death of a son o the death of a daughter? Sorry, I had a domanda like this on my homework, and I was curious.

WTF Is with your homework?!?! Even if you're in psychology that is a horrible question.

They should be equal. Gender doesn't matter. At least, it shouldn't.

Would te believe that in many countries, boys' deaths would cause più grief than girls? In fact, not only are girls killed in a female-genocide frenzy, but the birth of a girl is often frowned upon.

I am aware of this, but it shouldn't be that way.

I doubt it would matter. I'd be mourning equally regardless of gender.

I would imagine both would be horrible, but going into the psychology of it, people tend to be più conservative over their daughters because women are considered to be the più fragile sex. So, my answer would be daughter. That is, presuming this is not in a country were people will kill their newborn daughters o something...
