Help Please

So I am Scrivere a story where the main character (Darcy) finds out she is adopted but why would she have been adopted? This is what her real family is:

Her dad (left the family when she was 5)
Her mum
Her step-dad
Her older brother
Her older sister

Her older sister and brother were not put up for adoption so why was Darcy adopted?

Yeah I think so aha I meant like why was Darcy put up for adoption when the other kids weren't, I think I just made it look confusing.

Oh, well then maybe her mother was poor and decided that she would have a better life with another family that could take care of her.

The first two risposte were both about how the mother could not support the last child, Darcy, right? But if te want to add a lot of drama and stuff into it, I have some ideas.

1. Maybe Darcy reminded her mother too much of the father that had just left, couldn't orso with the pain and decided to give her up for adoption? Her older siblings didn't get the same problem as their mother already spent too much time with them and couldn't orso to part with them? It actually happens in real life sometimes, sadly.

2. If te think the above if too depressing, how about Darcy got terribly Lost one giorno and some moron with a grudge against the mother o something told the mother she was dead? Darcy, too young to remember how to get home, ended up being adopted. Her adoptive parents could be secretly looking for her real parents while she grows up, but it became difficult as Darcy may not know her last name o her family members' names. It is actually surprisingly common for young children to not remember certain things like this especially if they get too scared o something, in Darcy's case of being lost.

If te didn't like either of the above, te don't have to use them at all of course. I answered just in case te felt like a little serious drama and stuff like that. Heheh. :P

There has been a war going on between the two planets for 30 years, but her memory was wiped clean da her own kind, they changed her form, and have are watching her and human behavior to come up with a good strategy of invading the planet.
