Sia & Vance Joy score 2015 VMA noms - ARIA Musica News 

Aussies Sia and Vance Joy have scored one nod each, as the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards nominations were announced in the US overnight.

Eight-time ARIA Award winner Sia was nominated in the Best Female Video category for ‘Electric Heart’, which features ‘Chandelier’ video star Maddie Ziegler and actor Shia LaBeouf. She’s up against Beyoncé, Taylor Swift, Nicki Minaj and Ellie Goulding in the category.

Vance Joy, who earlier in the year broke the record for most weeks spent in the top 100 of the ARIA Singles Chart with his track ‘Riptide’, has been nominated as an Artist To Watch, going up against Fetty Wap, George Ezra, James Bay and FKA Twigs.

Taylor Swift has picked up the highest number of VMA nominations with nine. Swift currently has Vance Joy as the opening act of her worldm tour in support of the chart-topping album,

The show will take place on 30 August in Los Angeles and will be hosted by Miley Cyrus.
