Ok I know this a anno late o whatever but I have wanted to say this since the end of S2, Erica & Boyed leaving Derek NEVER EVER MADE ANY SENSE AT ALL, all of Derek’s pack trusted him 100% they never ever questioned him even when he didn’t have all the answers, and Derek told them what they were getting into before they turned, he took good care of them trained them to control their abilities, how to protect themselves, and they were loyal to him and never left until out of the blue, they both wanted to unisciti another pack because they “heard” other werewolves, all of sudden they wanted to run way and unisciti another pack, which is also out of their characters because A) until those last 2 episodes Boyed really didn’t have that much interaction with Erica not as much as Isaac did (some of te will say they don’t have to mostra it on screen they are both spend all of time together since they are in the same pack ok fine) then here’s the other reason B) they both turned licantropi because they both wanted to be popolare at school, to not sit alone at lunch, o have people taking video and laugh at her because she was sick, and they both worked really hard on building a new image for themselves at school, but all of sudden they are willing to leave their school, families, their alpha who they trusted with their lives just because they hear other licantropi umm… that just doesn’t make SENSE AT ALL.

They always followed Derek’s orders, and trusted him examples on that: 1) in 2x08 when both Derek & Boyed were bring shout at da the hunters, Boyeed was hurt so Derek told him to take his car and leave and Boyed wouldn’t leave that easily he had to tell him 3 times to leave him then he did, 2) in 2x07 when Erica was hurt from Jackson as the Kenima, Scott was going to take her to the hospital but she kept asking to be taken to Derek only to Derek.

They both trusted him enough to keep them sicuro, cassetta di sicurezza which he did until they were on their own, and he warn them that weren’t any other licantropi and that they would get themselves killed if they left, da then he already explained what an omega is, and what could happen to them if they were alone without an alpha.
So yeah it doesn’t make any SENSE, not one bit.

I find it more sad that you have the need to comment this. You dislike that others try to apply logic to a fictional story and must demean them for it? Sad. To loveDE45: So true. Again it was necessary for the series to show that Derek was a bad Alpha and in comparison make Scott look better again.

tboyd12 I think there are two ways to look at it....canon to the show (i.e - the plot line) and the reality of where they knew the show was going. As far as canon goes ...I was surprised they chose to leave, too, but I think it was because, one...Derek was not the greatest Alpha. While I know he needed to build a pack to face the Alpha pack when it got there, he might have made a mistake choosing teens to turn, even willing ones. Granted, the show is ABOUT teens, and I understand the logic; they can be controlled easier, they can be persuaded easier. However, they are also harder to hide the deaths and/or disappearances of should something happen. They are also young enough that they realize eventually (well, some do) that they don't want to die for a cause they were thrust into before they knew quite how serious it was. It was also a display that Derek's pack was losing their trust and confidence in him. He did suck as an alpha, but at least he did care about them. Now, for the reality of the show. I think part of the reason the writers chose to do have both of them leave is because it was a catalyst for the next season, the cliffhanger, and apparently both of those actors and characters were expendable. I think it was also, as mentioned above for the fictional aspect of it, to begin paving the way for Scott to become the True Alpha. Derek's pack lost trust in him and even though Erica died and Boyd did later, Isaac began to change his loyalty to Scott, even before Scott was fully an Alpha or knew he would be. He is portrayed as a natural leader who always tries to do the right thing (even if it doesn't always work out), and I think Erica's and Boyd's decision to leave was a subtle hint that things would be changing for Derek later, as well as a good way to leave people hanging so they'd come back later to watch the next season.
