Narrator's POV
Lila had narrowed her vampire choices down to the goths and the loners. Since last year, there weren't any goths around. So that left the loners. There was only a few Lila knew. One in particular was Reaver. They had gym together. So, in order to get to the bottom of it, Lila decided to plan a meeting with Reaver. The idea was to trap Reaver in a room in a room with her. After exposing her a vampire, she'd kill her on the spot. But Lila was smart. She knew she had to meet her in a very private place. So she decided to meet her outside of one of the Slayer's Headquarters in Bathory. This was the perfecct place because once Lila kills Reaver, the Slayers would dispose of her body properly. Maybe burn it o something like that. After school, Lila had gave Reaver the adress to meet her at. Reaver was reluctant at first, but took it anyway. Reaver came to meet Lila at the exact time and place she was instructed to.
Reaver's POV
I was waiting outside for Lila. The building looked pretty old. It was night time and there were no cars around. o people. I was pretty scared. But with my doll in my hand, I knew it would keep me safe.
Finally, Lila came out of the building instructing me to follow her inside. I did. Once inside, we went to the elevator. Once on, Lila pushed a button. It was to the 7th floor. Once we got off, we walked down the hallway to a door. Lila opened the door. Inside the poorly lit room was a tavolo and two chairs on either side. We walked in. Lila closed the door. She told me to take a sit. I did. Lila sat in the other chair across from me.
"I'm sure you're wondering why I called te to meet with me", Lila said.
She sounded like a dectective in one of those old shows my mom watches.
"Yeah, pretty much."
"I called te here to ask te a question. Not to sound brief, but are te a vampire?"
My cuore stopped.
"Huh?"
"Are. You. A. Vampire", she detto più slowly, as if talking to a little kid.
"That's ridiculous! Vampiri#From Dracula to Buffy... and all creatures of the night in between. don't exist."
"Are te sure about that?"
"Of course I am."
"What makes te think they don't exist?"
"There's no evidence."
"Why would there be? Think about it. Humans discovering extraordinary creatures living right under their noses. That would be all over the news in a matter of seconds."
She was right.
"Okay, that's true. But why would te suspect me a vampire?"
"Because I found this." Lila reached into her cartella, satchel she was carrying and took out an item. It was an empty bag of blood. "I found this in the trashcan on the girls's lockerroom."
"Anyone could've put that there."
"True. But why would they? All Vampiri#From Dracula to Buffy... and all creatures of the night in between. know it's foolish to leave evidence lying around. Every vampire exccept you, that is."
"I am not a vampire!"
"Prove it."
"How?"
Lila took out another item from her satchel. It was a wooden stake.
I almost Lost it. "What's that?"
"You know damn well this is." She grabbed it. "Now, if I stab te in the cuore with this, will te die?"
She couldn't be serious about actually stabbing me with that thing. Could she? "I-I don't know..."
"We'll just have to see, now won't we?" She thrusted forward.
"No", I screamed.
Just before she could put the stake through me chest, a guy walked into the room. He looked around 18, had shaggy brown hair, and blue eyes. He was beautiful.
"Lila, stop!"
"Joss? What are te doing here?"
"I'm here to stop te from doing something you'll regret. What if she's human?"
"What if she's not? Do te wanna take that chance, Joss? Freeing this monster out into the world, just to keep killing?"
I noticed Joss had to think about that.
"You can go, miss", he detto to me.
I immediately left the room. Once on the elevator, I thought of two things. How Joss saved my life. And how I was just trapped in a room with a Slayer.
