Trained in bare-knuckle brawling on the mean streets of Manchester, England, Wade Barrett brings strength, arrogance and cunning to the ring in equal measure. He’s also imbued with confidence and eloquence, character traits that have propelled the cocky young Brit to the superiore, in alto ranks in WWE.

Since coming to WWE prominence as the winner of WWE NXT season one, Barrett has proven that he’s not content to merely share the spotlight with his fellow Superstars. He wants total control, and he’s willing to do whatever it takes to get it.

After winning NXT, Barrett shocked the WWE Universe da forming the splinter group The Nexus and staging a hostile takeover on Raw. The Nexus quickly made their intentions clear following their debut, running roughshod on Monday nights and promoting an agenda of fear and intimidation. Barrett’s cold and ruthless leadership proved difficult to withstand. Even the mighty John Cena couldn’t withstand the onslaught, first becoming a lackey to Barrett’s goon squad and then being unceremoniously ousted from WWE after Barrett ordered his firing.

When the announcement came down on last week's edition of World Wrestling Entertainment's flagship telecast that The Nexus were now under new leadership, in the form of "The Straight Edge Superstar" C.M. Punk, it was definitely a surprising turn of events.

However, it begged the domanda of what exactly WWE had planned for Wade Barrett, easily the most impressive newcomer on the Monday Night RAW roster this year.

Following the power struggle angle, and No. 1 contender's steel cage match, we were left with più domande than risposte surrounding the WWE NXT Season One winner.

Many feared the possibility of "The Worldwide Leader In Sports Entertainment" turning the much hated Barrett into a "babyface," which would definitely stall all the progress he had achieved as a "heel."

Fear not, as there was some huge news to come out of tonight's Friday Night SmackDown tapings, which took place at the Tucson (Ariz.) Convention Center. Apparently we have finally found some risposte to all of our questions.

Wade Barrett has looked as strong as any heel in the WWE over the last few months, but nothing will get him over with the crowd like a win at the 2012 Royal Rumble.

Is Barrett a Main Eventer?
Yes, WWE Loves His Size and Athleticism
90.9%No, He is a Dork
9.1%Total votes: 110
With Barrett’s English background, it will be easy for the WWE to play him up as royalty after a win in the Royal Rumble, almost exactly how they did to Booker T after winning the King of the Ring.

I was never a huge Barrett fan, but he has always been a solid in-ring worker. The only thing that bothered me was his lack of elite mic skills. That being said, working behind the scenes after losing the serious push he was getting in 2010, Barrett has become very talented.

The English persona always works well because he can act like he is better than the crowd and draw some heat for that. Nothing can turn a crowd faster than hearing someone like Wade Barrett call your city garbage in his smug English accent.

Last week when Wade Barrett and other WWE Superstars traveled to Fort Bragg for Tribute to the Troops, an articolo was written up on the official Army website about the WWE’s visit. Barrett is quoted numerous times in the article, including here where he speaks on the excitement of trying out combat skills -

“We are out here for our annual ‘Tribute to the Troops’ show,” detto Wade Barrett, a WWE Superstar. “At the WWE, we like to support the U.S. troops in all our endeavors around the world.”

Besides signing autographs and taking pictures, the Superstars and Divas also had a chance to try their hand at some Army training during their visit.

“It was a lot of fun throwing the live hand grenade,” Barrett said. “I was amazed of the size of the grenade versus the size of the explosion. I didn’t think something that small could create an explosion that big. It was definitely a lot of fun, and an experience I will keep with me a long time.”

Of course, no one’s trip to Fort Bragg is complete without some good airborne training.

It is never the wisest of ideas to try and pin down one of the biggest men in the WWE – but Wade Barrett will happily take a three-count if it means talking about Preston North End.

The wrestling superstar is a lifelong fan of the Lilywhites having been born in nearby Penwortham and began his support for the club at the age of five when his dad started taking him to Deepdale.

And even though he joined the WWE in 2007 Wade’s passion remains un-dimmed, even though he’s not had chance to get to a game for some time.

“It is difficult [to follow the games and news] because we are on the road a lot so I try to keep up to speed while travelling, and my dad keeps me updated too,” he told football-league.co.uk.

“Unfortunately we do not get enough time off as WWE is on for 52 weeks of the anno so it has been several years since I last got to a game.”

- WWE Superstar Wade Barrett spoke with NaplesNews.com to promote WWE’s TLC pay-per-view. Here are some highlights:

Becoming WWE Champion:
“I’ve dreamed about it since I was a kid. I realized, statistically, the chances of me getting to the WWE and being very successful were very slim. I always hoped it would happen for me. I was very lucky to get the opportunity and I was going to make sure I was going to make the most of it. Wrestling was my first passion and something I wanted to do from a very young age.”

Going from main events to the mid-card:
“Wrestling is quite cyclical in its nature. If te have the same guys at the superiore, in alto of the card all the time, people get bored of it. They don’t want to see the same guys wrestling over and over again. I had a bit of a lull, but it allowed other guys to sposta up to the spot I had. The feud with Orton propelled me to the superiore, in alto of the card again. Things have been going very well for me. I didn’t take it personally when I moved down the card. People have to sposta up and down to keep things fresh. That’s the nature of the business.”

We walk alone
In the unknown
We live to win another victory
We are the young
Dying sons
We live to change the face of history
so be afraid it's the price we pay
The only easy giorno was yesterday
So hear our voice,
We have a choice,
It's time to face it

We are one
We are one
We are one
We will stand together
Number one
Number one
The chosen ones
We are one
We are one
we will fight forever
we are one and we won't die young

We are the bold
United souls
We live to win another victory
Our sacred scars
mostra who we are
And tell the story of our memories

Don't be afraid
It's the price we pay
The only easy giorno was yesterday
So hear our voice
We have a choice
It's time to face it

We are one
We are one
We are one
We will stand together

"Wade Barrett, a tall, well-built Brit, brings a strong bareknuckle fighting background to WWE. Confident and eloquent, Barrett isn't afraid to speak whatever's on his mind. He's notably obsessed with supremacy and will do anything in order to achieve it.

Since coming to WWE prominence as the winner of WWE NXT season one, Barrett has worked tirelessly – not only to step into the limelight, but to dominate it – thrusting himself into infamous notoriety time and time again.

Whether as a prominent member of powerful groups of intimidation such as The Nexus and The Corre, mostrare his championship mettle da capturing the Intercontinental titolo o sticking it to everyone from John Cena to Big mostra to WWE Chairman Mr. McMahon, Barrett has demonstrated that might most certainly makes right.

As long as there is authority, Wade Barrett will pursue his path of destined destruction with unrelenting aggression and resolve. The only domanda is where will this devious grappler will strike next?"

In my opinion, Wade Barrett has excelled hugely in the past year, as te can tell from his recente titolo rein as the WWE Intercontinetal Champion. Although he Lost his championship, in my view he still has bags of protenal. I think that Wade Barrett is under-rated and should be wrestling with some of the bigger stars in the WWE, such as Randy Orton, Christian and The Miz and not wrestlers such as Kofi Kingston, Sin Cara and Heath Slater. Although these WWE superstars that where mentioned are good wrestlers, they are not as good, in my view, as Wade Barrett.

I have recently heard rumors that WWE are considering giving Wade Barrett a manager, Although this would give him an extra boost in the ring, knowing that he has someone to impress, I think that he might get too distracted from his matches and would put him at greater risk of losing matches.

Maybe Wade Barrett was always destined for a career putting both life and limb on the line.

The Preston-born wrestler, who lived in Penwortham until he was six-years-old, is one of World Wrestling Entertainment’s biggest box office stars and is a huge name in America – più famous than David Beckham!

Barrett has grappled in the ring with some of the world’s strongest men, including US mega stars John Cena and Randy Orton.

Perhaps his route to the orso pit world of WWE can be traced back to the giorno when Barrett’s father decided one giorno to take his young son to watch Preston North End at Chester City.

The baby-faced youngster was aged just six in 1986 when he travelled to Sealand Road with his old man to watch their beloved North End.

In his wisdom, Barrett’s dad decided to shield his son from the rough and tumble of the terraces and instead opted to take his son to the seating area of the ground.

What Barrett, whose real name is Stuart Bennett, didn’t realise at the time was that his dad was taking him into the home end of the ground – where they sat schiaffo, smack bang in the middle of...

Wade Barrett was interviewed da Sky Sports & mentioned Chris Jericho:

skysports.com: Are there any established WWE Superstars te turn to for advice?
WB: Yeah definitely. I was lucky enough on NXT to have Chris Jericho as my pro. He’s a six-time World Champion and somebody still to this day, even though he’s not in the WWE at the moment, who gives me a lot of advice. We’re constantly texting and calling each other. It’s been great to have a guy like that. I’ve been a fan of Chris since the mid-90s. He’s always been a great performer. To this day, when he’s around in the WWE he’s one of the very superiore, in alto performers in the world. I’ve been very lucky to get a lot of consigli from him. As soon as I do something right o do something wrong, he’ll let me know pretty quickly. I’m hopeful that in some point in the future he’ll be back in the WWE.

On Chris Jericho's twitter he had this to say about Wade Barrett and others.

"Congrats to @mikethemiz @TheRealMorrison @WadeBarrett @RandyOrton and Sheamus for great performances last night! The Torch has been passed.

As te may know Chris Jericho was Wade Barrett's Pro on NXT Season 1.In an articolo Wade had this to say about Chris Jericho.

On working with Chris Jericho on NXT: "Look at the superiore, in alto stars, wrestlers like Randy Orton, John Cena and Chris Jericho. They've got the (microphone) skills, the appearance, the ring skills, even the facial expressions.

"One thing (Jericho) talked to me about was that te can't be strong in just one area. It was absolutely a huge deal to work with him. On the last ECW show, when they announced what the pro and rookie pairings would be, I had not idea who I'd be paired with. So I sat at home, like everybody else, watching ECW. I've always been a huge fan. When I looked at the lista (of pros), I definitely got the ace in the pack."

Wade Barrett was interviewed in the Baltimore Sun & Mentioned Jericho:

Speaking of learning from guys, Chris Jericho was your on-screen pro on NXT. Was there any real mentoring going on with Jericho and te behind the scenes?

Yeah, definitely. I’d say to this giorno he’s probably my first point of contact if I’ve got any domande o stuff that I want to know about in the company o if I want critiques on anything that I’m doing. I’ve got a few people I would go to, including William Regal and Goldust as well – he’s been very helpful. But I’d say Chris Jericho is my No. 1 sort of influence and mentor to this day.

What’s the best piece of consigli you’ve been dato in the business and who gave it to you?

The very best piece of consigli I’ve been dato I probably can’t tell te because it’s not PG-rated [laughs]. But I suppose Chris Jericho has definitely dato me a good piece of consigli in that when I started in NXT he told me that I couldn’t just be strong in one area of what I do. I couldn’t just be good on the mic. I needed to be good on the mic; I needed to be good in the ring; I...
