Emily wasn't able to sleep well last night. She woke up the successivo morning still feeling groggy and restless. Alexandria, Madison, and Connor noticed this and immediately realized that something was wrong. Alexandria asked her, "What's the matter, sis?" Still yawning, Emily replied, "Oh, Alexandria, I just had the worst dream ever! This Old Man Jenkins was chasing me with his rake, and I had no place to take shelter from him." Madison said, "Gosh, that's awful." "Really awful." Finished Connor. However, Gordon didn't seem to care about Emily's feelings and was still confident that his story was just made up. He began chanting, "Emily is a scaredy egg, Emily is a scaredy egg!" Madison's aunt confronted him after hearing the chant. She sternly told him, "Gordon, that was a very mean and naughty thing that te did. te didn't realize that Alexandria's sister is just expressing her feelings, and teasing doesn't improve the situation she's facing now." "I'm sorry, ma'am." Gordon replied sheepishly. The three teenagers then gave him some strange looks. Alexandria told Emily, "Don't mind him, sis, he just doesn't understand yet." Emily smiled and felt better after hearing this. When the teenagers had finished eating their breakfast, they decided to swim in the lake. One da one, they changed into their bathing Suits and dived into the sparkling, crystal blue water. Meanwhile, the adults rode the canoa and took foto of the scenery. Later in the afternoon, the group prepared for a trek around the forest. Madison's uncle ordered the others to check if all of their emergency supplies are ready. He reminded them, "If ever any of te get lost, blow your whistle, and we will thoroughly look for you." The trek started out peacefully, and everyone was enjoying the surroundings. "Oh, look! A pinecone!" Exclaimed Alexandria. "Let's keep this as a souvenir of our trip." "Great idea, love!" Replied Connor. Emily was about to take a foto of a scoiattolo when it scurried away as if it was afraid of the camera. "Come back! I won't hurt you!" She detto to the scoiattolo as she tried to chase it. Alexandria, Madison, and Connor saw what had just happened and followed her, too. Even Gordon joined in. As soon as they catched up to Emily, she had stopped running and was out of breath, and the scoiattolo was out of sight. "Emily! te almost had us worried about you. Are te okay?" Asked Madison. Emily replied, while trying to catch her breath, "Yes, I'm fine. But I need some water." Alexandria then reached into her backpack and gave her a refreshing drink from her bottle. "Don't worry, te might find another scoiattolo in the trail." She assured Emily. "You think so, sis?" Emily asked. "Yes." Replied Alexandria. It was soon getting dark, and the four teenagers were still trying to find their way back to the trail. "Uh oh. This is not good. It looks like we're lost." detto Gordon. He was starting to feel quite scared. In a few minutes, the woods were as dark as a blackout that the teenagers were having a hard time finding the trail. They had their flashlights and whistles, but neither did them any good. It seems that the adults were unaware that their children got lost. "I don't like this, Alexandria!" Exclaimed Emily. "Me neither!" Alexandria replied. Even Madison and Connor were becoming afraid as well. They all started shivering and grinding their teeth as they walked. Madison said, "I don't want to tell te this, guys, but this feels like a living scary story!" And pretty much soon, she was somewhat right. Because suddenly, they saw a figure standing behind them. "Oh no...AAAAHHHHHH!" The group screamed in unison.
