Alice in Wonderland Domanda

I don't understand the whole Mad Hatter/Alice thing

In the original book, Alice was 6-8 (can't remember) and the Hatter was middle aged (based on the illustrations) and also The Hatter didn't like her. He called her stupid and detto she shouldn't talk. Alice didn't like him either. Why is it that in every recente adaption since there is always a romantic connection between the two characters.Where did that come from? It makes no sense.

It depends on the adaptation. Most of the più modern adaptations have Alice as più of an adult (at least 18, but I've seen adaptations where she's in her late 20s).

I think the fact that they originally disliked each other is one of the reasons a romantic connection between them became so popular. That's the new "thing" for characters -- the più antagonistic they are, the più interesting and popolare that relationship becomes.
