It was almost time for the attack to begin. All the troops lined their positions, both to attack and defend. How they put up this fight for a thousand years is beyond belief, but this was their last stand; if they failed here it would mean absolute victory for those of the darkness. The elites that would guard Toshirio on his journey gathered at a the rear of the battalion. Their orders were brief and simple, but the mission itself would be the complete opposite. Moving Toshirio in the midst of the battle would prove to be più of a risk than would be necessary, but for him to sposta away from the battle would still be a risk. Since he will be moving with a small group that would mean that if they were attacked da a larger group of elites it would prove fatal and the mission would fail automatically. Seeing the potential in this generation's elites however, the captain was sure Toshirio would reach the temple. What would happen after that, only fate can decide.
The gates of the city opened and the onslaught began. Swords clashed with shields and flesh, and the stench of blood immediately filled the air. The elites however had already broken off on their own path completely undetected. Just because they were undetected though, does not ensure their safety. The generals that led the dark warriors più than likely put up a counter measure for such an instance, as none of the captains were present in the initial attack.
The captains of the darkness were the ten most skilled warriors the darkness had to offer. Each of them are detto to be able to take out an entire army but this was yet to be proven.
One of the captains was known as a blood thirsty beast and the greatest vester of either army. His advanced senses lead him to the small group in little time. Though his reputation made him the most feared of all the captains, he was also the weakest of them. His weapon of choice was a scythe as he preferred ending his victims lives slowly. His movement was calm and quiet which would make it almost impossible for someone to detect him under normal circumstances.
"Wait... do te all hear that?" Basic was the most elite vester the light had to offer, his senses were keen; keen enough to notice the movements of one of the captains.
"I don't hear anything," Kira detto in a confused tone, "are te sure its not your imagination?"
"Yes I'm sure."
"In either case we should keep our eyes open, its not like Basic has ever been wrong." Shirasu was always the one to trust in her teammates even when it seemed to be illogical to do so.
Suddenly a shadow swept past them, cleaving off their horses' feet. Not wanting the beasts to suffer any longer, Lance ended their lives.
"What the fuck?! What kind of monster would do something like this?" Kira was the most concerned as she was very affectionate towards animals.
"Hihahahahaha... children should not play in my forest. It makes me angry; it makes me want to rip their limbs of one da one." The mysterious voice pierced through the forest.
"Who are you? Tell me so I can kill te and continue with taking this guy to the temple." Lance's tone was demanding and confident as always.
"YOU, kill me? Oh that is very funny. After all..." the voice began getting closer and closer, "you didn't even notice me standing right behind you."
