Note: Since this review of my preferito Anime series is so long, I decided to diviso, spalato it up.

Anime SERIES I’VE STUCK THROUGH (MEANING I LIKE THEM più o LESS):

Note: For those really special series, those I just had to have for myself, I will note that they are in my personal collection for multiple viewings, either bought da myself o bought as gifts off of my amazon wish list. Most Anime series I have seen on TV o through Netflix rentals.

Spoilers may be present.

AD Police: This one I watched off an on demand channel on cable. It wasn’t the greatest of series, especially when I felt it had gratuitous angst that didn’t work. Like when this one cop’s wife and baby are in danger from bombs, and they are rescued, but the cop dies. That was just a time, even though I’m an angst lover, where I was saying, “Why couldn’t it have just had a happy ending?”
The main characters are Kenji and Hans, newly assigned police partners who get off on the wrong foot, but become good friends. I never really got to know the supporting characters.
With the last episode, I had a feeling early on that it would go for a tragic ending rather than a happy one. And so it did, but it was bittersweet and hurt so good rather than making me mad like the bombardiere episode. Let’s just come right out with it—one of the main characters dies. In a way, the intensity of the tragedy redeems the so-so quality of the other episodes.
Oh, and another thing, the episodes’ anteprima catch phrase, “Can things get any worse?” made me feel a fleeting moment of depression each time I heard it.

Ai Yori Aoshi, Ai Yori Aoshi Enishi—these are sweet stories, full of gentle plots, like will Aoi-Chan get to Kaoru-sama in time before the special pastry she bought him grows cold? Really, that was a plot! This can be seen as a harem anime, though despite the fact that all the gals Amore Kaoru in one way o the other, Kaoru only shares true Amore with Aoi.

Aria the Animation: I read three volumes of the manga first, wherein I found a peaceful world with no real problems, just wonderful discoveries. The Anime wasn’t too much different—there’s not too much angst here. If you’re looking for action, try elsewhere. I only wish they had a dub with this—sometimes te have to read both dialogue and song lyrics at one time, which is really hard. And what’s with the recurring line, “No sappy lines allowed.”? da its very nature, this is a sappy show.

Aria the Natural: A continuation of the above series. più gentle discoveries, but a couple of più dramatic episodes. What gives? Is that girl actually experiencing angst? Although I did like the pseudo-horror one where Akari gets spirited away da a mysterious woman in mourning dress. Still, I’d rather have all angst-free episodes.
