CHAPTER II
HERA'S MOTHERLY FORM(JUST AS BAD)
'watch out!!'
i ducked as an Arrow whizzed past my head.
'are te OK?' a girl with curly dirty blonde hair ran towards me.
'yeah... i'm cool, Becky', i replied, sighing.
'you don't look that way.'
Rebecca 'Becky' Jones was a new camper, and one of my new best friends. she is a daughter of Apollo and unlike her dad, she's an awesome musician (shhhh!!!!)
'yes', i said. 'then shook my head. 'no. i really don't know. everything's happening so fast. can te believe it? only a mese and the Argo's ready!'
'Leo's awesome', Becky nodded, her curls bobbing up and down. 'the Hephaestus cabina have worked so hard for the ship. da thw way... why are te in such a hurry?'
'rachel...' my voice trailed off. rachel had told me yo meet her in Hera's cabin. but the cabina brings back bad memories. really bad memories.
'she detto that there's something important that has to be discussed.'
te better get going then. da the way... where's Jason?'
'he's gone to Morpheus's cabin. he's been having such weird dreams. even i can't make a head o tail out of them... and neither can Rachel. beat that.'
'right' becky said, distracted. some of the Hermes guys were doing something with a fart bomb.
'okay', she said. 'i'll see te around, okay?'
with that, she went back for archery practice, and i jogged to Hera's dooms cabin.
'heya annabeth!' i heard a voice cry out as soon as i opened the gate. to my surprise, apart from Rachel, Piper was there too.
'thought you'd never turn up!' piper detto brightly.
'why did te call?' i asked.
'oh', rachel said. 'that'
she sighed, then closed her eyes. when she opened them, her eyes were really misty.
' there has to be a change of plans, Annabeth', Rachel said. but it was not Rachel's voice. it was Hera's. something of this sort had happened before, but this time, Rachel didn't go all loony and she was definitely not burping out creepy green gas.
'this mission depends entirely on you. a traitor can destroy us all', rachel continued calmly in Hera's voice. 'identify the traitor. make a plan worthy of Athena, o else we will all be doomed. beware, the traitor is not ordinary. they are children of athena too. te will have to face them. be prepared. change your plans'
then Rachel blinked. 'what did i say?'
'something not good?' piper offered.
'i hate Hera!' i said, exasperated, but really didn't mean that. Hera detto there is a traitor among us. a traitor who was a very dangerous person. she detto that we had to change plans. but what change should we make? and which plan? the argo plan? o convincing the roman people?
just then, there was chaos outside the cabin. a conchiglia, conch horn sounded.
'what's that?' piper asked, jumping to her feet and drawing out her knife.
'something definitely not good', i said, drawing out my coltello too.
Hades gym shorts! i couldn't believe it! this camp was getting più and più dangerous. a pack of dracaenae had somehow invaded the camp. okay. guess it WAS time to go athena.
