Watch Ariana Grande's Catastrophic 'One Last Time' Video
The 'My Everything' singer seeks out the best view for the end of the world in Max Landis-directed clip
It\'s the end of the world as Ariana Grande knows it and she feels fine in the new music video for
\'s "One Last Time." Set in the moments before the Apocalypse and borrowing from those fashionable single-camera, found-footage films like
, "One Last Time" finds Grande and her love interest journeying across a chaotic urban landscape packed with riots and crazed bearded men as they search out the perfect place to spend their last moments on Earth before a giant comet hits.
The "One Last Time" video was helmed by Max Landis, who is the screenwriter of the aesthetically similar movie
and the son of filmmaker John Landis, who directed Michael Jackson\'s legendary "Thriller" video. As an added bonus for fans who have stuck with Grande since her days on the Nickelodeon sitcom
, her love interest in the video is portrayed by Matt Bennett, her co-star from that show.
Landis has tweeted about the "One Last Time" video frequently over the past two months, documenting its production from conception – the story is inspired by the comet Eurydice that recently passed the planet – to completion. Landis also joked that Grande\'s concerned label had trouble grasping that the
singer wouldn\'t make it out of Armageddon unscathed. ("How\'s Ariana get away?" her label asked Landis.)
At last night\'s NBA All-Star Game at New York\'s Madison Square Garden, Grande performed "One Last Time," her collaboration with David Guetta, as part of a halftime medley that also featured "The Way," "Love Me Harder," "Problem" and "Bang Bang" (complete with a surprise appearance by Nicki Minaj).
