Water, Earth, Fire, Air.
Ever since I was a little girl, my grandfather would tell me stories about my ancestors, the proud people of the Water Tribes. He detto that they were very supersticious people, that they believed in moon spirits, the Spirit World, and the power of controling water called "Waterbending"; he would also tell stories about other supersticious lands at that time, the Earth Kingdom, the fuoco Nation, and the Air Nomads. I would marvel at all of his fantastic tales about the benders that could sposta from the smallest pebbles to the largest boulders, that they could shoot massive waves of fuoco with their bare hands, that they could freeze and unfreeze water whenever they pleased, and that they would blow off many leaves from thousands of trees in one single breath. But the tale that I favored the most, was the legend of the Avatar, a single, powerful bender that controlled all of the four elements, and was the only one that could stop evil, and bring peace and balance to the world. But now that I grew older, I know those things aren't real, they're just myths and legends. There are no such things as benders, there is no such thing as a Spirit World, and there is no such thing as an Avatar. They don't exist, and they never will.

I woke up with the sound of my alarm clock beeping in my ear; I lazily lift up my arm and bang the alarm clock off, then I let my arm slip until I could feel my fingers touching the carpet floor. As I slowly closed my eyes, my dad bellowed from the kitchen.
"ANYU!!!" he yelled. "WAKE UP!! IT'S 9:30!! YOU'RE LATE!!"
"Crap!" I gasped, and dashed off of bed.
I ran towards the bathroom, brushed my teeth like crazy; later, I ran back to my bedroom, and I rapidly put on my cloths. I dashed downstairs and I almost triped on my little brother's toy truck; and then dad says I'm the disorganized one! As I got down the kitchen, I grabed an mela, apple and ate a big bite from it, grabbed my lunch bag and left.
"Goodbye, Anyu!" my dad called out from the front door.
"Bye, Dad!" I called back.
And almost a block away from home, I ran back because I forgot my bookbag. Ugh, I guess te can call me disorganized.
As I burst open the door to my classroom, all heads face me; a few of them tried to hold back their laughter, and I don't blame them, I was a mess! My short, cropped hair was like a bird's nest, my camicia was on backwards, and, apparently, I was still wearing my bunny slippers. I let out a heavy sigh.
"Ms. Anyu," my teacher, Mr. Sanchez, called. "You're late."
"I know that." I answered. "It's just I had a bad morning, te see, I overslept and--"
"I don't want to hear it." interputed Mr. Sanchez. "Just take a seat."
And so, as I scooted towards my seat, Mr. Sanchez clapped his hands together and continued the class. I sat down, and I put my head down.
"Rough morning, huh?" whispered Rex.
"Yeah." I sighed.
Rex just nodded his head. te see, Rex is my best friend, even if he is a guy; other people, however, always get the wrong idea, I guess it's because since I'm a girl, and he's a guy, and we're always hanging out with each other so much, that they think we're "boyfriend and girlfriend", but let me just tell te that it is nothing like that. Rex and I are just friends, period. Rex lives successivo door to my house, and he's been my neighbor ever since I was a little girl, so basically, we've known each other since forever.
"Just a few più months, and it's over." whispered Rex, smiling.
"Yay." I cheered, unwillingly as I reluctantly raised my fist.
"You two in the back, be quiet!" barked Mr. Sanchez, and continued with class.
Meanwhile, two rows ahead of me, were a couple of girls giggling quietly.
"You can't stop two people from loving each other." giggled the first girl.
"Are they really dating?" asked the second.
"Probably." answered the first. "Those losers are perfect for each other."
"I wonder how they're kids will look like!" teased the third girl.
And the three girls giggling quietly.
"Great." I mumbled. "There goes those people again thinking we're in a relationship."
Rex was staring at the teacher lecturing the class, he was probably ignoring those girls. Clever.
********
Hours passed, and school was over until the successivo day. Rex and I walked home, and as we passed by, people pointed and giggled at us making personal remarks. I groaned.
"Can't people for once just leave us alone?I complained.
"Just ignore them." Rex said, casually.
"It's hard." I replied.
Rex shrugged. "Who detto it was easy?"
"Well, enough about that." I said, changing the subject. "You still want to come over my house today?"
"To do what?" he asked.
"The usual." I answered. "Doing homework."
"And da 'doing homework', te mean copying each other's answers?" asked Rex.
"Yep." I grinned.
Rex grinned, too. "Cool, I'll come over."

Sydney:
Its been a long time since we last saw the Avatar gang. I really loved them. And saw who they really were. Micheal has suffered a lot ever since Kayla left. But the good thing is, He realized she saved him for one reason, that she loved him enough to die for him.
I'm in high school now, and It's pretty cool. Micheal is still on the pallacanestro, basket team with Eli. Sam joined the swim team and I have pallavolo of course. I Amore my life now, even if I am the Avatar. The Gavin family are our family friends. We consider them secondo cousins. Thats why they came camping with us for our family Reunion.
And best of all, I've mastered all elements. I hadn't seen Hayden in while. Turns out she got new neighbors. They have this crazy daughter she babysits all the time named Takani. And Micheal got new neighbors too. One of them is named Kayla. She has a little brother named Dishi.
And she's a fuoco bender.
