The successivo day, Lydia was at another veterinary clinic to look for a new job. The receptionist told her to wait where she was. Lydia sat and waited. While she was waiting, she noticed someone crying. She asked, "Are te okay?" The younger woman said, "I just had to have my dog put to sleep." Lydia said, "I'm sorry to hear that." The younger woman said, "I'll never be happy again." Lydia said, "That's just the grief talking." The younger woman asked, "How do te know?" Lydia said, "When my dog, Fluffer Nutter, passed away, I thought I would never be happy again, but things got better with time." The younger woman asked, "How did te cope with it?" Lydia said, "Well, I wrote a lot. Scrivere down how I feel helps to get those feelings off my chest. I also talked with my Friends who also Lost pets." The younger woman said, "I think I'll try that." Lydia said, "It just might help." The younger woman asked, "How long should I take to grieve Scout?" Lydia said, "Take as long as te need. Don't ever listen to anyone who tells te it's time to sposta on. Only te can determine that." The younger woman said, "Thank you, sweet stranger." She gave Lydia a hug. Lydia returned the hug and said, "You're welcome." Dr. Burke, the veterinarian who owned the clinic had been watching. She said, "Wow, Lydia. That was very impressive." Lydia said, "I like making people feel good. It's part of my charm." Dr. Burke asked, "How would te like to be the client service specialist?" Lydia asked, "What's that?" Dr. Burke explained, "Well, te would comfort clients who lose their pets, te could give clients consigli on training, and te could even schedule appointments if need be." Lydia said, "It would be an honor." Dr. Burke said, "Great! te can start Monday!" Lydia said, "Thank te so much!" She then headed home to tell John, Pattie, Rebecca, Catherine, Marie, and Gavin the good news.
